My grand daughter is big into mermaids, Tinkerbell and Barbie. Hope this helps!

They sure do because I was one of them. I preferred some of my brother's toys. I preferred my Breyer horses to dolls. I was and still am the classic tomboy.
Of course most girls are not like me, and because my two are adults I have not paid attention to what little girls or little boys think is the hottest item to have. Lol no grandkids yet!
Barbies, crafts (why not set up a scrapbook box for her to have) board games (and someone to play with them!) About anything PRINCESS.

Why not set a budget and take her shopping? Or purchase a gift card and then take her shopping?
My 7-year-old son has attended birthday parties for 7 year-old girls. It's always craft stuff. I buy those kits (like at Jo-Ann's), paintable wooden bird houses, picture frames, etc. Then pick out a couple paints/foam sticker sets/bling/etc. And Barbies. Oh, and Legos are popular too.

Tiny things. The little girl below me loves anything that takes time to play with, or to make. She loves "little" things like her doll house, Polly Pockets, and as for Barbie, loves the waterpark for animals!! That was a big hit for a gift this summer. She played all summer with it.
