Wish I could go ahead and post pictures and layouts (haven't done any yet, but when I do...) but since the adoption isn't finalized yet I can't post pictures or identifying info until it's completed... Don't know exactly how long that will take - but as soon as I can I will!!!

Thanks for all of the happy thoughts and congrats! Due to some issues, it's going to be a long, tough road ahead but we knew that going into it... Looking forward to sharing lots of pictures and layouts soon!!

Wow, I am such shock over this news. I would have never imagined a 9 year old could be like that. So much has changed just a few generations behind me that I am just in shock. I am so saddened to hear the struggle your family has gone through to be filled with such dissapointment and odd frustration of a situation. I hope this little girl can get some help because how is she ever going to be able to find a home if she feels that is an appropriate nature to be around men, wonder what kind of life she had. I know it will be hard to go through the entire process again but know that your child is out there waiting for you and I hope that you are all able to be a family soon.

So sorry to hear of your situation. I have a friend who is a foster mom and she is NEVER told all the details even though the agency does know about them. She has to spend weeks tracking down information that should have been included from the beginning. It is a tough situation and I really feel for you!

I'm sorry to hear this news, really wish the state would've shared more details. Will keep you guys in my thoughts when you decide to pursue adoption again. I've been dealing with infertility for a long time and last year we had planned to adopt. The agency we were all excited to work with and seemed awesome in the beginning flaked out on us and completely turned us off from the process. I hope your next experience is the perfect fit for your family.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Sad for you ... and sad for the little girl. Hopefully someone will see that she gets counseling. When the time is right the right child for your family will enter your lives.

This is so tragic for you, the little girl and the world in general, although it feels like a terrible lost for you, personally. The state should have divulged her problems to you. I too am sorry to hear this. I believe many children have come through a lot of unwelcomed circumstances causing unfortunate behaviors. They do need to be forthcoming and honest so a family can decide if they can handle a child that needs help. Otherwise it's just more frustration and hardship on child and the adoptors. My dd is fostering 3 children and each has had some issues to work through and get supportive help with. If these children had not been actual family, I don't know if she could've stuck with it. It is a LOT of work to help children that have been abused. More history of what these children have endured should be offered. Surely I do not want to discourage you from adopting. My dd has also fully adopted 2 young boys (brothers) and they are so adorable and fun, smart and a blessing to this grandma. Don't give up. Keep looking for the right one. She's out there waiting!

So sorry! You're definitely not alone, we've had a couple of families at church over the years who had major struggles with adopted children and some could not be kept. But for first-time adoptive parents they really should have been more sensitive/fair to you with more information. You hate to be jaded and think that there's obviously a reason older children are available, but you never know what those reasons might be and who might be the family that can handle that. I'm so sorry for the disappointment and disillusionment you must be feeling.

As everyone has stated, this is such sad news. My heart aches for you and your family, but in some ways, that poor girl. SO young, I hope she gets the help and love she so needs, or her whole life can be destroyed. I agree you should have been more informed as to the nature of her problems.
