So here's an update that I never saw coming... The little girl will be moving out tomorrow. Unfortunately, she had some sexually aggressive behaviors toward dh and my dad. Neither one of them feel comfortable being around her without other people there - and we don't want to live captive in our own home. We don't really feel that the state was forthcoming with all information and was in a huge rush to get her placed somewhere so lots of details got left out along the way. We are still pursuing adoption as a way to complete our family - but it will be a little time before we are ready to give it a go again. The wounds are too fresh to try and not work through. Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts - they will be needed more than ever now as we are sad that this chapter is ending.
Ok, so I haven't been around as much as I would like to have been for the last several months... DH and I decided that we would love to have children, but it definitely wasn't in the cards biologically.... So last August we started the adoption process....
And we were matched! We knew we didn't want an infant and were open to children up to age 9... Our 8 year old daughter will move in with us tomorrow!!!! This has all went incredibly fast - we were matched a little over 10 days ago. She has been in foster care for the last four years. We are so excited - and a bit nervous!
I hope to be back around here more often and definitely scrapping more!!
