I am still flat on my back since last Saturday. The pain is actually worse today, because I thought I was feeling better enough to drive myself 10 minutes to my chiropractor, but sitting in the car was agony and now the pain is worse instead of better. I haven't been able to go to school all week and who knows what a disaster is going on in my classroom by now. Also, I am missing musical practice and our musical is in 4 weeks! Then, this thing with the CT has happened. I just need some major cheering up!
Laura
I am feeling kind of run down, too.
I hope you feel better soon! I know how things can back up when I am unexpectedly away from work for just one day. I can't imagine what your classroom will look like!
Did the Chiropractor have any good news?

hugs and prayers for a speedy recovery. It's so frustrating when you physically can't be somewhere and there's a lot to be done.
Take it a day at a time-----breathe and relax.
Art rooms will always be able to be cleaned back up!
Can someone help you with some rehearsal skyping??
I don't mind being gone---I just HATE to write the lesson plans for someone else to do!!!

{{{HUGS}}} Laura...I hope your back gets better soon and I am not having such a good week either, but I am hoping it will be better by the weekend....

Ouch, Laura...I hope you feel better very soon.
I hit a deer last night, so I'm not in the best mood either. Plus I'm still stressed over my computer crash from earlier this month. On the slightly bright side, I was driving BF's Toyota FJ, so my van isn't damaged. However, he's going to need a new front bumper, driver's side headlight, driver's side turn signal and housing, plus paint work to the side. I don't think he's mad, but I haven't talked to him since I told him about it last night.
Sorry to hijack your thread, Laura!

Laura - I sure hope your back feels better soon - it is NO fun living in pain. As for everything else - it will sort itself out. Don't worry - stress makes pain much worse. (((hugs))) I will add you to my prayers in hopes that your mood will lift. I'm saddened about the CT, also. Misery loves company, right?
Hope you feel better soon! HUGS

As an X-ray tech - I've seen the long tern affects of chiropractors. Just think about grinding things back into place, and you can imagine the erosion of the bones. I'm truly sorry you are in so much pain - I've been there, and I know how hard it is to function when every move is excruciating. However, I'm glad you didn't go to the chiropractor!! RE THINK THIS. I'm sure they have a place in this world, but I think 90% of the are quacks. Take the gals up and get a massage instead.
Feel better soon. And yes, I'm sorry about the changes to ACOT. Lovely. I guess we just wait and see.

My chiropractor is most definitely not a quack. I have a herniated disc in my lower back, which was determined when he sent me for an MRI. His therapies have helped keep me largely pain-free for the past 7 years, since I herniated the disc. I also have a doctor working with him, who can prescribe pain meds and steroids to reduce inflammation. I did this to myself, through my daily work and movement, I reaggravated it and am now trying to get back to where I was. I did go to the chiropractor and the reason I am worse is because I had to sit in a car seat to drive there and sitting in any chair is uncomfortable and is putting stress on the injured area. I thought I was better enough to drive myself, and I was wrong.
Thanks for the positive support ladies. I know I will make it through, because I have before, but this couldn't be happening at a worse time. And, Nancy, yes writing the lesson plans for the sub is completely stressing me out! I am running out of simple ideas that a non-art teacher can handle (I teach high school, so they have to have enough complexity to engage the older students.)
Laura
I will pray for a speedy recovery. Take care.

Hope you get back to feeling better soon. I feel your pain. I lived with a herniated disc for about 15 years before it ruptured. Fortunately, thanks to my chiropractor, I was in Seattle getting an MRI when the rupture occurred so I was able to get in to a neurosurgeon for emergency surgery. Yes, chiropractors do have a place. I spent years going to a regular doctor and all they did was give me meds and say rest. The chiropractor helped me be able to have a somewhat normal, more painfree live without drugs for many years before needing surgery. Chiropractic care has come a long way in the past 25 years.
Hugs, my friend! I am sooo sorry to hear you are still dealing with that. Wishing good thoughts for a quick recovery for you!

Good luck Laura. I hope you start feeling better soon and can move around with no pain. My DH has 2 herniated disks. He personnally knows what you are going through. Take it easy and don' t push yourself. (((HUGS)))
