So today I tried my hand for the first time at decoupage! I made Christmas gifts for my sister's kiddos. Now I want to get my hands on everything and anything!!! I actually found myself looking around the house for more things to alter!!! I refrained, but maybe just for tonight haha. I think a trip to Michaels is in the cards tomorrow since I have the day off.
I got three altered wooden plaques done today (here are two of them)...

Those projects look great! I love decoupage.
I love to decoupage stuff!! If you are interested, you could look back in my gallery and see the hinged box I did for my MIL. I also did the front of my wedding album.
I'll go check it out!...I showed my sis the plaques and she's gonna pay me to do a few for her niece and nephews (hubbys side of the family)...I just finished a big one for my DD, I'll post it soon...she loves it!CherryTat wrote:I love to decoupage stuff!! Those are great!! And Darlene, that box is fabulous!
I am going to try altering for the first time in the next couple weeks. I have 2 boxes that I want to do for Christmas. Wish me luck!

I remember when I was a kid, decoupage was so popular, my aunt did it constantly, and it was always so beautiful. Thinking I might need to get something going! I have something that would be perfect, too....... (insert sound of cogs in brain turning....)
I would like to know more! There is one OA paper in the Sidewalks collection that I NEED to use to make pretty things for my craft room! LOL Seriously, I really want it in fabric also----I would so make another valance and stuff for my room.
Anyway, can you decoupage on cardboard boxes? Like the priority mailboxes? I want to make them into magazine holders and cover them with this paper....but am afraid if I just glue it on it will get beat up looking--where decoupage may make it stay nicer looking.

As far as I know you can do cardboard...I would just be careful to let each layer dry so as not to soak into the cardboard too much and warp it.
