I was peeking around the board today and i realized its been a while , i dont always post but like to read and i feel like i have friends all over
sooo with that in mind i wanted to share that BOTH ...not one but BOTH daughters are engaged and getting married NEXT year ..........can we say stressed ?
anyhow one daughter has it in her head that i should make her invitations , i am not a card person , i have dabbled a bit , but i do mostly scrapbooking...soo if anyone has done weddings and have ideas that they would like to share i would be happy to learn and listen...! keep in mind i am not a card maker so if i see something i love i may ask TONS of questions..!
One is a fairytale wedding in November
one is a beach wedding in June ......................I think i will be busy for a while
thanks for listening

Wow...congratulations to both of your daughters!! I'm a scrapbooker as well, who's only done a couple of cards. So I don't have any ideas/tips.

My dd just got married last friday. Her step sister is getting married Sept 10! Needless to say my ex and his wife have been pretty busy! The one advantage is that they helped each other to learn and plan as each came across different information. You will get through it, and maybe you can use some of the same decor for both like centerpieces, bows, etc.
Congrats on all the happy occasions coming up. I've done wedding invites for lots of people in my family...for some reason, I always get talked into it. Below are pictures of a couple of them. Both include vellum with the words printed on it, both include pics (the 1st one I printed, the 2nd was just printed at Walmart and attached on the flap), both had eyelets (I don't recommend designing them this way if you have a lot to do...I made 125 of each of these and was wishing I hadn't designed them with eyelets. The first one (done for my niece who didn't like anything frilly or frou-frou) had ribbon attached at the bottom and then the torn paper on the layer above let the ribbon show. The 2nd one had mulberry and then an embossed stamp under the vellum. Sorry there are so many pictures, I just wanted to show all the layers involved. Good luck!
oh, that's so exciting... CONGRATS xTWO and those girls are lucky to have you help out!
i have never done weddings, but i'm sure a lot of our cherry ladies have ideas, so goodluck!!

I don't have much experience with them, only example ones I'd made, but it is a business I wanted to get into. haha! I thought I'd share some ideas that I've found around. Maybe they'll inspire you. They're styles that I've tried to make similarly myself.
Oh, and I'm digital scrap booking, so that might change how I see them, as compared to how you see them.

I made them for my son's wedding all 200 of them!!! Yes it was a big wedding...it was a destination wedding so to speak so we wanted to include lots of info. I needed to get a head count for the rehearsal dinner as it was on an island and needed to know...so a response card for that (only some people got those invitations as everyone wasn't invited to that); needed a Brunch card for the next day, Lodging info, Directions, and a map of the island...they came out great and I never made cards before either. I would suggest start now even if you do not know the specifics you can get the size format, a few test runs and do your calculations (50 at 4X6, 30 @ 6X8...etc.)

beach invite cards would be fun...beach could be made with tan cardstock or if you want it really realistic sandpaper and then use torn blue vellum for water.
