LOL...Nancy, you crack me up! My housekeeper is the worst! Seriously hate doing housework especially when no one helps (DD could but usually I can do it faster without her "help", DH works 75 hours a week so really can't ask him to help...but the least he could do is not make such messes for me to clean up!). I think the worst part is that it's a never-ending, thankless job...no one ever says anything unless I get behind and the house becomes a disaster zone!
Looks like all of our housekeepers are on strike! Most days mine is too, but my landscaper sure has been busy.

ok you gals just need to get old(er) and retire. My DH retired before me 2 1/2 years and he took over everything but grocery shopping. When I retired, we split up the household stuff. I grocery shop, do most of the cooking and kitchen tidying, and daily sweeping and bed making. He does ALL the laundry, (gather, sort, wash, dry, fold and put away), cleans the bathrooms (toilets, showers, tubs, counters, etc.), and does the vacuuming. In spring and fall he also washes the windows. Oh and he does all the outdoor stuff too. One of the best things he does (at least to me) is puts away the dishes from the dishwasher. I hate to do that. Only thing neither of us likes to do is dust so that seldom gets done. lol
He was just like all y'all's DH's when he was younger and worked. Made messes and almost never helped. Not sure if he is bored or finally opened his eyes. LOL Makes life so much easier.

Then I'd just have a retired housekeeper who sucks. I have no DH to share the chores with! lolCharleneanne wrote:ok you gals just need to get old(er) and retire. My housekeepper keeps playing with my scrappy stuff! No housework getting done here.

AMEN!!!!!!!!! Or they can come clean it themselves! LOLAyla wrote:My theory is....they're coming to see ME, not my HOUSE. If they don't like the state it is in, either a) don't come, or b) clean it yourself!deerewife wrote:Mine is MIA too...but I have to get it clean in the next few hours as my parents will be here soon for a week.
They are much pickier than I am!

I have one like that, too. Even my 4 year old is starting to notice.

Long time ago I had a beautiful perky young housekeeper, who did it all. She has been with me since day 1. Now she is an old bitty who can barely move and the house shows it. Hubby stepped in and said not to worrry he would do the cleaning. so yay! He is in his 70's, so now the maid can lay around and eat bon bons and read or sew or whatever. hehhe

I've wondered what would happen if I just quit doing it. I'm thinking we'd end up on one of those TLC programs with viewers gasping and being so glad they don't live there.
I used to have someone come, but now that I don't work I do a room a day and just do it as I can. My husband helps a ton doing the things I can and I have the option of having someone in when I think I need to. And the rule in our home is if you find dust/dirt you clean it and everythign seems to get done when it needs to. We don't clean on Sundays and I do a load of laundry a day to keep on top of that.
Anyway, I'm sure your house is fine. You gotta enjoy life while you can!
