Good thing you didn't put pets out!
Queen Mum - Grammy to Princess Bump (Lisa Giann) and Princess Bean (Gia Bella)
What an interesting creature. I had to read up on them. Their habits about being nocturnal are more like a skunk from what I read. Mostly nocturnal but will on occasion be out and about during the day. I see skunks at the ranch at all times of the day. But I'm more likely to see one at night. This one was certainly not rabid. A rabid animal is aggressive and porcupines from what I read are not aggressive creatures. No need to, obviously! I've never seen one in the wild so you certainly had a treat.
Interestingly, they are more apt to visit humans because of their need for salt. They can get destructive to things like clothes and shoes if they need the salt. Chew on wood, paint etc which can be detrimental to their health. But they can eat bark, shoots of trees as part of their normal diet.
And chances are I won't see one here. They are in the western half of our state and the closest county to me is Bosque.
Xander was so cute to remember his sword to protect Mommy!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing how you scrap the photo.

Very cool! I love seeing the wildlife. It looks like a cappibarra (my spelling might, probably be wrong).
