Hi there!
I love ACOT Crops!! I love to see new people hanging around and I hope that we can get them to stay as this is the BEST site EVER! So during the Crop I'd like you to reach out and touch someone. They don't necessarily have to be new to ACOT, just new to you. Maybe there's someone that you've admired in the Gallery or someone that puts up some fun posts and you just want to get to know them better. This is that time! Send them out a Private Message asking them 5 questions. Any 5 things you'd like to know about them and then come back here to this thread and tell us who you met and what they answered. Then we'll all get to meet your new friend! You can contact as many people as you like. On Sunday night I'll come back and hand out some random points for those of you who played in my Reindeer Games and got all neighborly
Cheers~

CHEERS~~
This has ALWAYS been my favorite part of the crop!! Glad to see you back online Jamie!!
Trish ~ It's all fun and games until somebody loses an EYELET!
Great!!! We do have the best online community!!! And I love love the meet and greet!!!
Talked to killarney_rose already!!!!
1. If you weren't a rancher, what would you want to be?
Meteorologist....but with question #2 that shouldn't surprise you. The other would be an Architect, I loved the houses built in the late 70's where I grew up and it was one of the reasons I took architecture in high school.
2. Do you enjoy watching for tornadoes? Love it, but they scare the daylights out of me. Weather is something I really became fascinated from one of my Ag Professors could tell you if it would rain and the time it would start. He was that in tune to mother nature. I guess most farmers and ranchers become that way. He was known for always being right, even if you only had a 20% chance that day.
3. Did you receive a Mother's Day gift already? Getting to play all weekend. DH just said he already fed for this evening....love him!
4. What are you trying to get done this weekend??? Layouts and maybe a card or two....play a little.
5. Don't forget to let me know when you are up for the American Royale!!!
Look at the schedule online, we'll be in for Breeding Beef. I would think the schedule would be posted by end of July. I'll know if we are entering any cattle by entry deadline the first of September. Like last year it might be only to attend. I promise to let you know.

I love this part too!
I sent a pm to bfaretra. Will post again when answered.
1. What got you started scrapping?
2. Paper or digital?
3. Favorite theme to scrap
4. Is there a technique you wish to learn?
5. On a scale of 1-10....rate ACOT, lol had to ask that one!
I started scrapping when I thought that my mother had Alzheimers and I knew how much she loved Christmas and I wanted to preserve some of our family Christmas memories for her. That was 6 1/2 years ago. The "little" book I planned turned into a very large album & is now passed to a different sibling (there are 8 of us) each Christmas.
I am a paper person - touching everything seems to be therapeutic - but I must admit that I have been accumulating a lot of free digital stuff and have used a few digital things on some cards (making them hybrid) but I cannot ever see being only digital. Plus I seem to make more cards than layouts these days.
I guess my favorite theme to scrap is anything related to family.
At this crop last year, I said that I wanted to learn embossing, which I have done. Now I want to learn how to do different/unusual folds for cards.
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best, ACOT is a 10+!!!
Thank you for your answers!!! nice getting to know you.

I met Sim6ba:
Hello, Marilyn here. I found ACOT just by being on the internet looking for scrapbooking supplies one day. I love the site cuz it offers so much stuff to choose from. My ID that I use on here is my cat's name with my birth date in between. I drive a Ford Explorer and with the gas prices , it is kinda kicking me in the butt! I'm sure alot of people are getting hit by these gas prices thou. I like Oldies and Rock-n-Roll, so I really don't have a favorite band cuz I like a bunch actually. My favorite color for a jelly bean I would say red, but it's gotta be the kind of jelly beans where the red one would be cherry. I love cherry!:-D

1. How did you find ACOT? It was awhile ago so I don't remember for sure, but I had a couple other go-to SB sites so I'm sure I heard about it at one of them!
2. How did you come up with your screen name? My name's Crystal.. I thought "sugar crystalz" was pretty clever when I was about 12 (with a z of course!) and I've just used it for everything since!
3. What kind of car do you drive? 2007 Chevy Aveo- just paid it off and I'll soon be looking for something bigger- 3 kids in the backseat is going to be tight!
4. What is your favorite band or singer? I love strong voices like Rhianna. I don't pay too much attention to artists but I love classic rock, modern rock, and rap. Occasional songs in other genres.
5. If you were a JellyBelly what flavor would you be? I love anything cherry so that has to take it.

I reached out and touched Bernadette. She's a closet Yankees fan
My friend Tamra introduced me to ACOT
My screen name is totally not creative - first initial and last name
I drive a boring car - a Venture van - which I got after my son left for college - after a guy ran a red light & hit me & totalled the Explorer - but the bright side is that it holds our cameras and tripods and grandkids, nieces and nephews
My favorite singer of all time is Neil Diamond - has been since I first remember hearing his voice as a kid
I would have to be a watermelon JellyBelly - I love watermelon & love that flavor and think it is cute that the JellyBelly outside is green & the inside is red

I contacted mgehrke aka Mildred:
1. I know you are married, and have two daughters, any grandkids? No grandkids. Neither of the girls are married yet. The youngest one I think has found her man, but the oldest has no luck in the guy area. So I think it might be awhile yet before I am blessed with grandkids.
2. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind/how many? Oh our home would not be complete if we didn't have a pet or two. We have 2 dogs - Shyloh who is a sheltie basset and Molli who is a puggle. We have 2 black cats - Midnight and Mufasa. We also have a bird named Zazue who is a cockatiel. We also have several fish tanks full of all sorts of fish.
3. What is your fave color you like to scrap with? I love using black. I think it is so elegant and goes with everything.
4. What is your fave brand that you to scrap with? I really don't have a favorite. I just pick what catches my eye and goes with my pictures or album theme.
5. If money wasn't an issue, where in the world would you like to visit? I would love to go to England. The youngest went there 3 years ago and her pictures and stories are amazing. The oldest will be going to Costa Rica in August and I can't wait to see her pictures and hear her stories.

I too love the meet and greet. I sent a pm to oceanbreezes423.
and here are her responses to my questions:
Hi, I have been seeing your screen name a lot lately in the gallery. It would be really nice to get to know you. Here are my 5 questions:
I am so honored that you chose me!
1. In your Bio, you said that you love the ocean. How close to the ocean do you live? I live just under 3 miles from the shore, My DH works right on the beach, so we go there often!
2. How long have you lived in SC? I have been in SC for 7 years now. I am from the north originally, came to visit my DS in college, and fell in love.
3. Do you have any pets? We have a cat named Zeba. I know, strange name, but she is a strange cat!!!
4. How long have you been with ACOT? This is my third year (I think) boy, the time flies!!!
5. How long have you been scrapping? I have been scrapping since 2003, and I sure can see how I have changed over the years!
Thank you for letting me get to know you

I amswered meteechtap's questions and Janet returned the favor. Here they are.........(OMG, I just realized what her username meant LOL)
1. what would you do if you were not a dance teacher? I would probably be in flowers, or might even go back
and renew the cosmetolgy license I let expire (way back in my youth)
2. How did you meet your husband and how old were you? Always an interesting Question.....we met on Yahoo
personals. I was 29 and he was 31.
3. What is the scrap technique that you like to use the most? Lately I find myself inking almost everything, or sanding
4. Do you have any scrap "heroes" that you look up to/inspire your own work? Just about e ery cherry here!!
5. Did you have any girl names picked out in case you had girls instead of boys? If so, what were they? Oh Yes!!
Really wanted a girl. First I thought of Chancy (a cross between Charlene and Nancy {the two grandmas}), then I was going to use Callie a Family Name.

I sent a PM to retiree3. She is retired from 32 years of teaching. A strong woman obviously. Lives in Louisiana and has 3 wonderful grandsons. Lucky lady. She has been scrapping for about 5 years and her favorite holiday all year long is Christmas.
I enjoyed meeting Donna.
