Re: cricut cutting felt?
I've used the thicker felt (it was stiff) and had good success - I did have a cut a few loose. Haven't tried the other kind.

I've never used it before for felt- Iwould think regular felt would leave a mess of fibers behind on the sticky mat.

Re: cricut cutting felt?
You can buy adhesive felt. That would be cool for making shapes as it would be a ready made sticker. And it would leave much less mess behind as the felt doesn't directly adhere to the Cricut mat. Would you need to use the deep cut blade for that I wonder?

Re: cricut cutting felt?
I have a guide that suggest the deep housing blade...and it also suggest taping all sides down. i have never done it though...i think it would pretty much destroy your mat with the fibers left behind....though you could always wash and re-stick it

Re: cricut cutting felt?
When I used the stiff stuff it didn't really leave much mess behind...but it's stiffer than regular felt. But, just wash and you're ready to go again. I use construction paper all the time and it leaves tons of residue but it washes off really easily.

A few tips for you...
Cut an image that is not super detailed.
Apply heat and bond to one side of the felt.
Place it felt down on your mat and use low tack tape such as masking tape to help hold it in place as you cut.
This will help the cut be a bit more clean.

Hope this helps!

Re: cricut cutting felt?
I have used the Cuttle Bug to cut felt with moderate success. The shapes had to be less complicated, otherwise, I ended up having to snip away parts that did not cut properly.

Good luck!

What exactly does 'Apply heat and bond to one side of the felt.' mean?

Re: cricut cutting felt?
Sorry about that. Heat and bond is a product you can get at craft stores in the sewing section. It helps kind of stiffen the fabric a little so you can cut it easier.
