Elias has had a loose tooth for months. When the start to wiggle he doesn't do anything with them. But, tonight I convinced him to let me try pulling it. It practically fell out of his head. He's so sensitive and is always afraid its going to hurt.
What's the going rate for Tooth Fairy at your house?
E normally gets $0.50 because he lost his first at 4 years old and when we asked him what the Tooth Fairy brings he said coins! haha. He's getting a dollar tonight, though.
yep, we've done the dollar too, but it's those round silver kind + glitter, of course

I think my grandkids are getting at least one dollar. I guess inflation is everywhere. LOL
Gee, I remember when I was a kid it was 10 cents. For my girls it was a quarter!

Woohoo! The first tooth! Z got spoiled by her Dad (who never had children before) when her first tooth fell out... he out $20 under her pillow. o.O How do you compete with that? I told her it was a lot because it was the FIRST one (and very special) but that the others were not going to be worth as much!

This is not our first, it's the 8th. He's quite ahead of the other 1st graders. It's been while since we lost one.

LOL! I TOLD her Dad not to give her more than a buck a piece but she's come back home with another $5 for the third one (I forgot to give her anything for the second). So I told her she was paid for the 2nd one!

What is it with the kiddo's that don't want to lose their teeth? I remember I was so excited and played with them till the fell out! Little man has had one that is so loose, this morning I discovered a second one that is just as loose. Its getting really hard to brush his teeth because he throws a fit whenever you get near it :x
anyone who says sunshine brings happiness, has never danced in the rain.
What kids get for teeth is crazy these days...and what they try to extort outta their parents is just about as bad. ( i work in the dental field so i've seen this first hand) I have heard anything from a buck up to 20.
And for whatever reason most kids have no desire to pull their teeth out ....i have seen some so loose that a good sneeze would probably blow it across the room.
Then i had one parent tell me that a sibling was trying to pull out his brothers tooth to get money...i was like "hey why pull your own. when you can take someone elses."

I know, me too! I yanked and yanked on those loose suckers. And, I'd have my dad pull on them if I couldn't do it. I wanted them out!buzymomof2 wrote:What is it with the kiddo's that don't want to lose their teeth? I remember I was so excited and played with them till the fell out! One time I told my dad I had a loose tooth and needed help. He pulled on the wrong tooth and it came out! Later that night I was in the shower and realized it was the wrong tooth that came out so I pulled the one that I had wanted him to pull. I got double Tooth Fairy that night!
Did you keep getting the Tooth Fairy visits even after you no longer believed in the Tooth Fairy?
This is where living in Ca sucks. The mom's around here give $5 to start! Hello?! Really?! is that necessary?
I got a dollar when I was kid 25 years ago.....my student lost his tooth the other day and he got $5.00 from his tooth fairy!

My daughter lost her tooth Thursday. She was eating a starburst and her loose tooth came right out and was stuck inside the candy. We usually give a buck for a tooth.
The Tooth Fairy gets pretty busy around here sometimes.....it has taken her a few days to show up on occasion. When that happens, the affected child has usually gotten double and a note from the Tooth Fairy expressing her apologies. The boys started rooting for her not to come on time lol.
Congratulations to your little guy! My kids get a quarter for the 1st, 2 quarters for the 2nd, etc. More fun than the money though are the stories. DS#2 decided that the tooth fairy didn't exist and she didn't show (actually forgot ), but then he wrote her an apology note and she showed up. The stories about why she wants the teeth are interesting too.
