I don't know if it's possible to search the gallery by "author". But it would be helpful if there was!
& I find it hard to search the gallery most of the time. Today I was searching for a title of a layout and i received 200 layouts. That can't be right. I tried using the "+" and it didn't do anything different.
thanks for listening!;)
Thank you for posting this. I also have trouble, can't wait to hear all the great advice
Scrappy69 wrote:If you want to search by "author" you can just find a post from that person and then click on "layouts" under their screen name. It will take you to their gallery. There is probably an easier way, but that's what I always do:)
This is also what I do.
Here's my big beef... when I search for something, let's say "snowman" I get layouts from 2005, then a 2010 one, then something from 2008. I really would like the most current stuff to pop up first and go back in chronological order from there. Maybe you can sort by submission date, but I can't seem to find that option anywhere.

What is the easiest way to find "that author"?

That's how I do it, too, but sometimes I can't find the person....or it takes a long time to find a post of theirs. A search by author would be GREAT.Scrappy69 wrote:If you want to search by "author" you can just find a post from that person and then click on "layouts" under their screen name. Lynda
the search function doesn't seem to be working. I tested searching the words "wicked" and "home" separately and completely random layouts came up with little to no mention of the search word in any of the title, description, products or comments. Bizarre.
The best way to search within the gallery is to use the Browse menus from the left side. Search by theme, technique or manufacturer/designer. These results will come up in order by date also.
To browse a user's gallery, the best way to do that is to locate their user account from the message board (searching for their screen name should do the trick) and then click on the Layouts link to view their personal gallery. If you have difficulty locating a user, you can instead us the members directory which is located in a link near the top of the page underneath the search box. You should see two links, one for FAQ and one for members.

that has also been bugging me lately. Like we recently had to do pumpkins for something and most of the layouts I found were years old and the people weren't on here anymore. Not that I mind seeing things but I like to give comments to those that are on here so they see them.
Maybe someday there can be an auto archive feature of inactive members or something.
me too and a search by author would be wonderfulscrappie_stacie wrote:Here's my big beef... when I search for something, let's say "snowman" I get layouts from 2005, then a 2010 one, then something from 2008. I don't think I'd want all the old ones archived...I still get ideas from them, whether the poster is still active or not!SWAY2865 wrote:scrappie_stacie wrote:Here's my big beef... when I search for something, let's say "snowman" I get layouts from 2005, then a 2010 one, then something from 2008.
