My sis has them and loves them. She uses them to color in stamped images. I've been avoiding them because I just know that they will be yet another expensive addiction :greenwinkb:

Re: Copic Markers
I have them(about 50) and do love them. I am still learning the tricks. There are videos on utube for lessons. I saw one that the lady said to keep costs down, buy the lightest and darkest and one inbetween for each color group. You can manipulate to get the colors inbetween. I too tried to talk myself out of having to buy these, I had originally bought a stamp set with 4 in it. So I stamped a image 3 times and colored one with copics, one with stampinup and one with tombow. Wrote on the back what was what and had people pick the best one and copic won everytime. There really is a difference. Unless you are truely a rubber stamper would I invest in them just for scrapbooking.

Re: Copic Markers
I have taken a couple card classes using them and I like the look, but not the price either. I think I accumulated 6 of them this year now. And I also dont care for the fact they almost always bleed through.

Re: Copic Markers
I use the Ciao ones as they are the cheapest and I like the shape. Splitcoast Stampers has a forum for FAQ on Copics :

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forum ... 75727.html

As for the bleed through, I use an 80lb. paper or higher such as Neenah Solar White. Copic also just started selling their own brand of paper this past month.

As for the price, there is one store that ranges from $2.97 for the Ciao to $3.95 for the sketch. I have purchased sets from Joann.com using the 40% off coupon just to get started and been adding single ones to build up the same color families. Just another expensive hobby. :?

Re: Copic Markers
i have some too. I am still learning how to use them. I have not mastered them by any means. I have bought sets from overstock.com and jerrys art-a-r-ama has them for about 4.00 each... sometimes they have sales, which makes them even less !

I watched a youtube video on them and decided I'm too klutzy for these, and the price is an issue.

Re: Copic Markers
I'm using them in the store where I work, and in the end of November I'm heading up to Tampa to get certified So far I'm just using the store markers, but I can totally see another expense coming my way. I'll check out the bargain places THANKS for the tips :D

This was my first try.... The background is distressing ink (had to add some LOL )

CUTE!!!! If I did more stamping, I might consider these, but since I tend to neglect my stamps :? I think I'll stay away.

Re: Copic Markers
Two of the lss near me have had classes in the past. To save money, they throw in a few markers with the price of the class. They seem to be a big hit. I'm not a big card maker...don't have time and I rather work on by albums.

For the price, I'd rather stick to my watercolor pencils

I want to get some..but with kiddos who always seem to get their grubby little hands on my stuff , I just cannot bring myself to spend the money and then find them outside being played with by kids.

Re: Copic Markers
I share QueenMum's sentiments.... I can't justify the expense, and I like my watercolor pencils and watercolor crayons just as well for a lot less investment.

Re: Copic Markers
I have just started using Copics and I love them. I'm taking my first class at the end of the November. My LSS will be carrying them soon and the owner is getting certified next month so I'll be going their for classes. For the money that you spend I figure I better use them and correctly to get my money's worth.

Re: Copic Markers
I've been researching Copics for over a year now. I am finally going to get my set in the next month or two. I'm going to start with the basic 12 primary set first then supplement from there. I want the original Copics because they have the broad tip nib and the fine point detailing end. I found sets on Amazon for about 50.00-60.00. The Ciao and Sketch sets were less expensive.
