I'd be for this. People used to know where their food came from, more people should today. It would make them think twice and the obesity rate might not be as high.
I haven't seen the ads, but would be curious to see them. I am strongly anti-abortion, but, at the same time, if they are what you say they are, I wouldn't want my boys to be viewing them. There will come a time and a place to TEACH (not brainwash) my children as to why we believe what we believe, supported with Scripture, but I try to shield them from as much of the sin and violence in this world as I can. They need to be kids for as long as I can help it - our kids grow up way to fast as it is.

I can send you the link if you'd like, send me a PM. DO NOT WATCH it around children or at work.

I agree that children don't need that type of stuff at a young age, and that the campaigns truely are pathetic, however I am a firm believer in American Rights, whether I agree with the topic/issue or not. I look back to 9/11 and remember how the networks quickly stopped showing the video of people jumping out of the towers, and then hearing how people felt bad that Americans hate the Taliban/Muslims, (whatever category you want to put there), and that we(the US) should be more kind and forgiving and understanding - Maybe they should have seen the people jumping from the buildings to realize how horrible the whole thing was. Networks in America do sensor, mostly good, but I think more stuff should be airred so people get it, and live in reality. (again, use a little discretion as to when it's airred, and by putting the message on about the graphic nature, at least helps too.) I haven't seen the ad, but would like to to form my opinion. Just don't see it as an ad I'd like to have played during suppertime, which is news hour at my house.

I haven't seen the ad.
I'm still disgusted with tampon and erectile dysfunction ads.

We have a Planned Parenthood clinic right down the street from my daughter's private school and protesters are constantly "picketing" with their graphic pictures along the street. When I see them, I turn the car in the opposite direction because I don't want my daughter exposed to the images at her age. When she's a little older, we'll discuss the issues and she can ask as many questions as she'd like.
I totally understand the right to voice an opinion but sometimes I think an individual's time could be better used in a number of ways; Volunteering at a shelter, educating teens, etc. instead of standing on the curb shouting at passerby's.

we recently learned that in our area at least, we can report them to the police for having those graphic images and they will get fined.
Are you freaking KIDDING ME??????????? They put abortion scenes in a haunted house???? I would have protested that church and written to the freakin' pope over that!!! That is HORRIBLY cruel to families and children and to NOT let the parents know before hand??????? That's just savage. Wonder who's idea THAT was?gonecamping wrote:I am pro-life and I totally disagree with these ads. Even though I haven't seen the commercials, anything that is that graphic has no business being shown where children can see it. We have a church in town here that put on a haunted house a couple years back, only the scary stuff was actually very graphic re-enactments of abortions. They didn't let parents know that before they took their kids through the haunted house that was billed as family friendly. Lots of very unhappy people there! Lets keep our kids innocent as long as possible!
I used to be a "celebrity cherry", but now I'm in re-hab...... Holy Carp!

Ha!!! Me too - remember the ad where the 2 women were walking down the beach and the younger one would say - Mom, do you ever get that not so fresh feeling! - That always made us laugh at dinner time!!!
Also - on this subject - how about that shaking weight ad - HOLY COW - that made me spit out my soup!!!! (we were at a Cotton Patch restaurant having a family dinner - my 16yo son could not stop laughing and my 88 yo MeeMaw could not for the life of her understand why 1/2 the table was rolling on the ground laughing)
Regardless of one's view of abortion, it is fair to say that politics and politicians have set a new low on sleaziness and lies. They make the Kardashians, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen, and Snookie (oh yeah...I'm going THERE) look like Mother freaking Theresa! That's right...I even said SNOOKIE! They all suck.
