Oh, I still can't decide... Cricut or Wishblade...
Now, if they made a Wishblade that could run 12x12, I'd be set...

well with sure cuts alot or another software you can use any true type font with your cricut. It does have to be connected to your computer though. And, according to Cricut it voids your warranty, which is only 1 year.

I don't have any experience with the wishblade.

Yep, and it's very very easy to use :) There is another one on the market that isn't from Provo Craft, but I don't know the name of it.

I up graded my mac with the new os x 10.6.4 and I'm suppose to be able to run windows from it. Not sure I really want to corrupt my computer though....

I don't know exactly how it works, but I know that it is possible to run "windows" while you are on a Mac. I have customers that absolutely have to use a MAC, but our software only runs on Windows. And somehow they make it work! I think there is a "mode" that you can invoke when you run the software.

Mac users have been able to run Windows on their computers for a while now... there's a program called Boot Camp that allows you to install Windows and have both operating systems on your computer...

I just love my Mac too much to want to do that :inlove: - I fight with Windows at school, I don't need the headache at home, too.

I don't think Sure Cuts Alot is from Provocraft - do they make a program like this too? You would think if so then it would not void the warranty. That would be a good thing!

ProvoCraft makes Design Studio - the catch is that you have to have the cartridge. Sure Cuts Alot and another program(I don't know the name) do not require that you have cartridges other than the one needed to make the machine cut (it needs one in there to allow it to cut).

I'm not sure how it voids the warranty as it doesn't install anything onto the machine. I think it's a scare tactic to get you to buy design studio.

The other program that works with a Cricut and your computer is called Make the Cut. It is a great program and so easy to use.

How do Sure Cuts Alot and Make The Cut work? Can I only cut out text with it, or can I cut out my own designs as well?

You can cut your own designs too. There are A LOT of svg files out there that you can cut also. I forget the program I use that I draw my designs in...but then you can save them as an svg file and cut away! LOVE LOVE LOVE the cricut!
