Re: How do you keep caught up?
I am 3 years behin, so I am no help!! but here are some ideas :)

1. get the pictures printed you want to scrap

2. go through them and pick out the ones you REALLY want to scrap...you don't have to scrap them all :)

3. then put them in chronological order

4. pick out papers/elements you would like to use with those pages

5. then when you have a few minutes here and there you can put a page together without having to overthink it :)

I have no suggestions for digi LO's....:) I scrap whatever inspires me there!!!! I am doing a P365 digi album this year and LOVE how it is coming along

Caught up? What's that?? I gave that fantasy up long ago. I figure whatever I pass on is more than nothing and just enjoy the creative process.

I just try to enjoy the process. I do one layout at a time. If I think of all that has to be done I get overwhelmed, and I don't want a hobby that is stressful.

Re: How do you keep caught up?
I would love to meet the person that is all caught up~~~ I have 6 kids ~ I am so far behind but my main goal for starting scrapbooking was to give my kids baby books because I never had one. I am about 5 pages from being done with my 5th childs baby book and my 6th child is 4 months old. I just look at it this way ~ when their baby books are done anything after that is bonus!!;)

I do believe 'caught up' is one of those urban myths! I say don't worry about that and just scrap what moves you when you are moved to scrap!

Of course, I haven't been moved to scrap in several weeks....I have no advice for lack of mojo.

Re: How do you keep caught up?
This "caught up" that you speak of...that's a foriegn concept to me! Nothing in my life is caught up, especially my scrapping. I constantly have lists of things that need to be done that I keep procrastinating on. The only advice I have is if your digital, then templates can help speed things up a bit. Quickpages are even faster, but I haven't really used any of those yet. I also find that I work faster in digital, so I don't paper scrap much, but I plan to go back and use up supplies later when I have more time (but I doubt I'll ever have any). Good luck!

Re: How do you keep caught up?
Okay I have to warn you being caught up is over rated, I have been for the past 8 months or so. It leaves very little with what you can work with. You get caught up and keep scrapping the current ones, but you have to keep taking more photos just so you can scrap. I end up with crazy pictures/layouts cause I have the urge to scrap and no pictures! :?

I agree! I have found myself several times taking pictures because I need something to scrap! BUT... I also have no desire to go backwards and scrap photos from before I started scrapping three years ago. I don't know why that is...

Re: How do you keep caught up?
I don;t want to be caught up. I love this hobby of ours and my kids are getting to the point where there just aren;'t as many pictures taken that aren't posed becase MOM wants new photos to scrap. If I am caught up, I have no reason to buy anymore paper, which will lead to a deep, dark depression....I am NOT caught up for my own health.

Re: How do you keep caught up?
When I first started scrapping , I was very stressed out because I was trying to catch up. Now, I just do what I can when I can and I'm a lot happier and not stressed. I am even getting more done since I stopped thinking about catching up.

Re: How do you keep caught up?
What do you mean by caught up? Is there something in particular that you wish to have scrapped but feel like you can't get to it?

I used to be bothered by being "behind" all the time -- non-scrapping friends and family aren't interested in photos taken three or more years ago! However, I now scrapbook in both directions (newest and oldest) so that I have layouts with recent photos to share and can still work on the photos from the past (I'm up to 2005) for my albums.

For the current layouts, the pictures I chose mainly highlight the year, so that they can stand alone in an album until I catch up to them, and then they will be mixed into the correct chronological album.

I'm not bothered by being behind now, since I have photos to share (which is the issue I was having) and I still get to scrapbook the earlier ones at my own convenience.

What is the reason you feel you need to get "caught up?" What will that do for you?

Re: How do you keep caught up?
1. Pre-print pictures and have them organized and labeled so they are easy to find/sort through.
2. I keep the plastic bags that paper comes in from ACOT and use them to pre-build layouts....i put in papers, emellies, and the pictures i want to use on a LO and keep a drawer of these until I have time or motivation to get to them.
3. Make "crop times" whether it is a night or a weekend that you spend having your time alone (uninterrupted) scrapping.

Re: How do you keep caught up?
I don't think I will ever be caught up and that is ok with me. I don't even scrap in chronological order anymore. I just scrap what I feel. Sometimes it is current photos, sometimes it is from my childhood, and sometimes it is just for me for a personal album that I may never share with anyone. Getting to this point has made scrapping much more enjoyable for me :-D
