Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Summer and have found time for a little fun and relaxation. Speaking of fun, I’m excited to tell you about our next On Assignmentchallenge! For those who are new to doing On Assignment challenges, there is general information about these challenges in the post below. In short, you create a scrapbook layout based on the “assignment” and post it in our designated On Assignment gallery. Soon after the deadline, we’ll select pages for publication, and if you’re selected, I’ll email you to let you know the exciting news. Okay, onto the latest challenge.
Your Assignment: Use a song as inspiration for your page
I absolutely love music of all kinds. I play the piano, and classical music is one of my favorites! I like to listen to classical music when I’m reading. However, if I’m driving in the car, I turn on classic rock or flip through radio stations to find 80’s music. And if I’m in my scrapbook room, having fun creating something, I’ll play music that makes me very happy, like Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat or Earth Wind and Fire. Music is part of my everyday life, so I thought we would have fun creating a scrapbook page inspired by a favorite or memorable song. Try to think of creative ways to incorporate the title or lyrics from the song on your page. Photos are not required for your page, but I would love to see what photos you would choose for a page inspired by a song. For example, if it’s a romantic song that you and your boyfriend enjoy, you can include a picture of the 2 of you. Perhaps there’s a song that your kids love to sing; you can include a picture of them. Or maybe take a picture that symbolizes something in the song. These are just a few ideas, do whatever inspires you.
After you have completed your page, you can share it with others in the June 2011 On Assignment gallery. And if you post your page by October 12th, you have a chance at getting published in the magazine.
