Re: What's stopping you
I use digital many for journaling or text, and sometimes when I just can't find the right embellishment. I just like the look of paper better.

I do not have a program to to digi with. I want something easy to use. I have been collecting digi stuff, does that count?
Do you have Microsoft Word? Or another program where you can copy/paste images? Then, you can do hybrid!

Re: What's stopping you
I scrap digi and paper, but rarely hybrid, probably because of the color printer thing...(too lazy) to hook it up at home, and black/white at work

I don't have a 12x12 printer--I would like to print off my pages...

THen, that being said--I dont think our printer is that great for printing out scrappy quality images! I want them to look like things I buy at the store---KWIM?

plus, we don't really have any photoediting software and such to use...

I have done a couple and I even tried going digi (I like using computers), but I really prefer the hands-on feeling of doing paper.

Re: What's stopping you
I've done both paper (for about 11 years) and digital (for just over a year now). I realized today why I don't paper scrap much anymore...I make too much mess and it takes me forever! But I've never merged the two. The only real reason I have for this is that I don't have a very good printer. I can either make something digital and hope to print it later, or I can make something in paper because it's actually here. I'm hoping to do some in the future maybe.

For those who want to try hybrid but don't know how, Ronny did a fabulous class on it! Make sure you check it out. viewtopic.php?f=331&t=228654
Also, if you don't have photo editing software, this tutorial I did shows you how to use Microsoft Word: http://www.acherryontop.com/articles/Ho ... Album-6926

Plus, here is a tutorial I did on how to make your own transparency (which is a way to use hybrid, and I think it looks awesome in black/white to add to a color layout!) http://www.acherryontop.com/articles/Cr ... rency-9964

I have tried digital and it's OK. But I like the experience of putting stuff on to paper. I like to be able to physically put a page together. I like the tactile experience of it all.

Re: What's stopping you
For those of you saying "ink cost" I bet if you added up the cost of ink and how much you could print and compared with the prices of your papers/embellies you buy, it would be pretty equal...;)

That's what we're talking about...hybrid is just as tactile as paper! But, it is more versatile. Don't have enough alphas to spell what you want...hybrid - print some out. Don't have enough of the pretty paper you need to finish your layout...hybrid - print some out. Need just one more embellie to make that page perfect...hybrid - print it out! :-D

Ok I have to admit this is pretty cool... but I'm not sure I get it. What are you printing this on? And, no, I didn't read your full instructions... don't yell at me. Is it printed directly onto the blue paper or on a clear transparency?

Honestly, because I have NO CLUE how to use a digi kit. I have the tools...PSE 8, computer, 12x12 printer.....but I guess yes, I am scared.
If PSE is too overwhelming, then you can Insert digi jpegs right into Microsoft Word and print them. Or, you can try some of the wonderful designs Amy Teets has that are in .pdf form. All you have to do is download, extract and open them!

Here's the thing....I bought a digi kit about 2 years ago. I opened it, unzipped it and there were a million little files and I had no clue where to even start!!!!!!! I mean each letter is a file, each piece of string, etc. How the heck do you know what you have and where it is on your computer? I guess I need to overcome the fear of a digital kit before I try to learn how to use them! I am not at all interested in strictly digi scrapping but I do want to venture into hybird. I sorta have....I bought printable tickets from House of 3 and use them a lot!
