I remember Iron Orchard Designs from a long time ago, but it seems it was at a different site. Is my memory correct? You know I've made the rounds over the years, but my memory isn't all that sharp!
how it all started? let see.....well... we started digital, (i had worked as a graphic designer for a newspaper, and sally finally talked me into trying scrapbooking, when she went digital, because she knew digital would be common ground), and as we began getting requests from other digital scrapbookers for our designs (the ones we made for our own use), we started going the direction of selling. From there it kindof just was a natural transition into paper. Please forgive my choppy thoughts, i have a wee cold and i notice its affecting my thought process lol.
Ok, so then what sal??

salogris wrote:I was just trying to remember myself, how long it's been, lol. I think it's been 4 or 5 years that we've been designing, and 3.5 years or so in the paper crafting industry. Before that we designed for a digital store called The scrapartist.
Wow, thats reall interesting to me! It would seem more natural to me to go from paper to digital!!! Pretty neat.....and being one who admires digi but doesn't want to scrap digi, maybe there's hope for others to jump into paper. One can NEVER have too much paper to choose from!
I was wondering if your artistic talents have all came naturally or have you gone to any art schools.
Finally made it here! Great to see everyone.
So do each of you work on the designs together or separately?

I've always wanted to be a graphic designer. Maybe when I grow up.
how many collections we come out with in a given year, really depends and varies. We've been with CI for a short time, and only have two collections out with the so far We worked with PRIMA previously and came out with about 6 a year I think

YAY, i like that question, its easy
The Song of Solomon was the inspiration behind beloved. I love the pure, yet intense love that is expressed so poetically in the book. It makes my heart go pitter patter. What a sap huh? It really means a lot to me because its a beautiful picture of God's love for us, the intensity of how he feels about us. I am my beloved's and He is mine.

Do you work together in an office or work separately since your designs are digital?

LOL. jk. we really do though. sometimes we totally work together on a collection and it can look several different ways. for instance. jos does the fronts, and then I take it from there and finish the backs. More recently though, we've taken the lead on different collections and simply worked side by side in person or on the computer with skype video and screenshare to have contstant CC and input into eachother's process. We've talked about how it would be fun to each start a collection and then hand it off to the other for fun
