Yup... some times hard not to when your walking around the house. One purpose though I haven't really done.

I have tried to but I truly can't hear very well and usually can't hear when people are talking right to me.
Yep! I work in the basement of building next to the vending machines. There is a vent in the wall so we can hear everything that is being said when people are at the machines. We once got to hear all about a lady's plastic surgery and liposuction conversation she was having on her cell phone. I finally went out in the hall and pointed the vent and said, "you do realize there are people in these offices and they can hear you, right?" She turned bright red and walked away in a hurry.

yes and sometimes you can't help but overhear - if it so private then the ones talking should make sure nobody is within listening to them
Yes - if it's within ear range - I might listen a little hard sometimes - but not intentionally listening in.
Yes. Where I work, you can't help listening to co-workers' conversations when you're working on a chart.
Yes, I have. Sometimes it happens at work 'cause the walls are so darn thin I can hear every single conversation happening in my boss's office. Of course, it's only the 3 of us, but still - it's uncomfortable when they are discussing the financials.

Yes, I have. Sometimes you can't help it. Like when people are having a conversation behind you in line or talking on their phone so loud you know their entire life story.
