I make a lot of altered projects from little bird houses to recipe boxes for my honey. The biggest problem I encounter is how to protect and seal these projects. I have used Mod Podge without much luck as it tends to take forever to dry, ends up a bit sticky even when it does dry and it sometimes buckles my paper that I use to cover the projects. I recently discovered a miracle product that has been around for quite some time: Liquitex Gel. It comes in matte or glossy and goes on with a sponge or regular paint brush. It lets the strokes of the paint brush show adding texture and interest to almost any project. It dries quickly and cleanly and, unless you just load it on, does NOT buckle the paper. And, best of all, it waterproofs the project. My husband leaves the recipe box out while he is cooking and I've just used a damp cloth to clean up everything from grease splatters to tomato juice. Give it a shot...I am now buying this stuff by the gallon.

You can get this at almost any craft store. And it is similar to Golden, which I also love, but I still like this one , esp. in the matte, the best!

Yes where can I get me some, online company hopefully! I've been doing lots of hybrid projects but only have access to MS wet glue and it buckles worse than mod podge on paper. Its a nightmare. I'm waiting on my new ATG to come in, but would love to be able to seal my projects.

I will have to give the Golden I have a try with this. It was something I bought quite some time ago and haven't really used much.

You can also use this medium to make transfers from OverHeadpapers for ink-jet.. just print on them with a ink-jetprinter, leave to dry, paint on some liquitex on some scrappaper, cloth or basicly anithing, push down the OH-paper on to the liquitex, rub the surface, let dry for a minute or so, gently peel of the paper, and Tada! a transfer is born.. It´s really fun to work with.
