I left to go for coffee with a friend yesterday and shopping with my daughter and my honey had all the outside lights and those on the lanai down! We're slowly but surely taking down Christmas. I did throw a tissy fit and the big tree will stay up until New Year's Day! Sigh.

I am not sure when we will take down our stuff. Maybe Tuesday. Since we have a real tree, the county will only pick it up on certain days, so I need to find out when they pick up the trees.
There are 12 days of Christmas! We will be keeping our tree up until January 5

All the Christmas stuff is down and boxed away. DH and did it yesterday before I went to work. Day after Thanksgiveing Tree goes up. Day after Christmas the tree comes down.
I'll be taking it down Tuesday or Wednesday...don't like to start a new year with an old tree!
Taking down already? Ours will stay up for another couple weeks at least! I just love looking at it all!

I'm not in a rush to take mine down this year either! But we might anyway just so that I don't have to worry about it when I get home from our little trip next week.
We usually leave it up until New year's day but E got antsy for some reason this year. Oh well. Tree stays up til Jan 1 if I have to chain myself to it!

I've got company coming on Weds., so I'll leave it all up until after they leave. I'm getting a little antsy, too.

Ours usually comes down on Jan 1st.
Our tree came down this morning and I'm still cleaning up pine needles. The rest of the Christmas decorations will be put away tomorrow- once it's over, it's over.
I usually take down the tree and put everything away on New Year's Day. We don't take the outside lights down until there is a day when it is not too cold, but we don't light them after New Year's Day.
I gotta find somewhere to stash all of Q's new toys first. THEN I can take care of the tree! I'll probably get to it in the next few days since we just got home from my parents' house.
Ours will be up until at least the 12th (some extended family follow an Orthodox calendar). But even then, I'm in no hurry. It takes a lot of work getting it all put up, I want to enjoy it as much as possible!

OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
Since we didn't haven't a LARGE tree this year and it's in the kitchen window, we'll probably take it down by next weekend. The rest of the items will be taken down and stored away after the New Year sometime :P
Trish ~ It's all fun and games until somebody loses an EYELET!
Most of our stuff is down - our house is just too small.

Never did get around to decorating like I usually do and ended up with a small, pre-lit fake tree. And the outside lights have some sort of short in them and haven't worked in days.
So - I think I'll start putting everything away tomorrow and just decorate for Mardi Gras early (I usually wait until Jan 6 - Kings Day!).
