I hope you're not still feeling bad about this. A simple mistake and a quick response! That's all that can be expected of someone. Sleep well and tomorrow will be better.

I would say, don't go everboard with the apologizing or excuses. Just be firm, apologize and just state that it has been a very hectic day. If you start sugar coating it, the client may start asking other questions and doubt your companies systems. Don't worry, most clients are demanding..they wouldn't be clients if they weren't.

Re: I'm a complete JERK!
Hey - it was embarrassing, but it's over now. Once, I send a doctor on a speaking tour to a different state to do a dinner meeting. I forgot to tell him that the restaurant had closed and moved down the street. The doctor didn't see the new restaurant, turned around and flew back home. Needless to say - I got called into the bosses office the next morning. We sent everyone fruit baskets and tickets to local restaurants for dinner. I also wrote an extremely humble letter of apology to the doctor, the sales rep hosting the dinner meeting, and to each attendee. GEESH! But - it blew over and life went on - so let it go, ok? (((hugs))) Mistakes happen - we are only human!

More and more bosses and executives are doing in depth searches for their employees and for generated search words through google dot com and other online search engines to find just this type of post. In the past month there alone there have been 2-3 stories of people being fired from their job for posting threads quite similar to this one where the owner of a business claimed damages because the employee took private company matters online - even though the company was never mentioned by name.

I know everyone here is a great help and support for one another but it's something to keep in mind when posting here or on social networks.

Good luck with your boss and the client. :)

I happen to agree with this, too.

With this said, please you are a caring person who would never mean to hurt someone's feelings.

Bosses always have to deal with issues, I know that too, because I am one.

I'm always a demanding client, customer or whatever you want to call it. I expect to be taken care of. And I also know everyone makes a mistake at times. There is one thing I know is we as humans take things many times the wrong way whether spoken or written. And trust me I'm plenty capable of stepping on someone's toes when I truly don't mean to. And instead of letting it roll off the shoulders we take it personally and stay mad at an individual. Any one of us probably could really come to like a person if you took some time to sit and talk with them instead of getting in a tight over some thing someone said or wrote. In fact I would smile if someone said that about me, because then I know they were concerned about keeping me as a client. So relax, take a deep breath and go on to the next task at hand, because somewhere down the road it will happen again, and again the next time. But as DH says, women never forget so you'll double check from now on, so that alone is another reason to relax and go with the flow.

By the way you are very deserving of {{{{{{ HUGS }}}}}} !!!!! AND SOME LOVIN! :inlove:
