REALLY getting to know you...
So, Laura and I got to meet at CHA Winter in January. I had a bit of an embarrassing moment about 30 seconds after walking on the show floor for the first time when I completely spread-eagle biffed it. Miss Laura saw the whole thing and didn't even laugh at me!! *I* was sure laughing at myself though. Way to make an impression! :? :-D

So tell me an embarrassing moment of yours! Make me laugh! I will shoot out some points at the end of my shift.

Oh you guys are KILLING me with these!! Jules, if I could give you points I SO would. :-D

A sprinkle of points to the following ladies for making me laugh:

I used to sit in the front row of the lecture hall (I know - I'm a nerd). The seats were like cinema seats that flip up automatically. Anyway - I dropped something on the floor, stood up to pick it up and sat back down - on the floor - the seat had flipped up when I stood up.

Re: REALLY getting to know you...
ok, not a pretty story.

We had been out drinking (this was a while ago). We get back to a friends house. I feel the need to puke (uugghh) so I take off running up their steps. I tripped over the top step, bit the dust and puked on their wall. Niiiiiiiiiice.

You can never appologize for that enough! :?

Re: REALLY getting to know you...
about 3 weeks ago I went roller skating with our church youth. I did great helping my two go around the rink staying on my feet while they fell. However, I went out by myself and down I went and hard! It took two other adults to get me up and I still have the bruises!!

Re: REALLY getting to know you...
Ok - one day my sons, their dad and I were fishing. The pond stretched below the road, so there was a bridge to cross it and there were hills down to the water. Well, I was crossing the road, and I was carrying my fishing poll. Being the graceful woman that I am, I slipped and tumbled all the way down the hill and into the pond - holding my fishing rod above my head! The kids were laughing hysterically. Don't know if that's one that you had to be there to laugh at.

Re: REALLY getting to know you...
I have so many it is hard to choose just one....but here is a recent one.

I was the personal attendant at a friends wedding Lobor Day weekend and in my hometown where I know everyone!! I was supposed to gather all the sstuff from the church to be sure it got put in her car. There were about 5 pews of people left in the church after the ceremony when I decided i could go up and get the unity candle off the alter. So I pick it up and the big center candle goes thump onto the floor. That got everyone's attention of course. I was embarrassed to say the least...but that isn't all. Well I am not the smallest of women, so when I bent over to pick it up, I lost my balance and went stumbling across the front of the church and almost over the alter railing!!!!! I was wishing for the earth to open and swallow me.

I was at a seminar wth mostly men, cops (local and troopers) and as I was walkin to find a seat, I was too busy gawking at a trooper that had really caught my eye that I ended up tripping on the leg o a chair and fell! Not on my donkey, at least, not on my face, just to my knees, but I looked up and THAT GUY had noticed :?

So I was working as a pirate in a virtual reality theatre when these new crews came to the place I was working to do story about the fun center. To make a long and complicated story a lot shorter some one had the bright idea to make the pirates ride the bummper boats. I was wearing super heels and a minidress. I am sure every one watching chanel 13 that morning saw my underpants.

Hmmmmm.....can I think of one? Oh--when I was in middle school , my family was camping when I got it. For some reason--this time I started passing out when i had it. So my dad and a family friend were helping me down to the bathroom. While I was in the stall, I passed out! Dad and the guy came in to help me. Then when they walked out--this woman came in all freaked out because she thought they had done something to me. (Okay--I guess that is more embarrassing for the guys...)

OH, but NOW I thought of one! I was in such a hurry to use the bathroom at a conference one time---I jsut rushed into the bathroom! I came out of the stall---to see a man standing there! I had run into the men's room--and didn't even notice! There hadn't been anyone in there at the time! But now--this guy was using the urinal!!! EMBARRASSING!!!!

Re: REALLY getting to know you...
Heh, ok. When I was in high school I was involved in Campus Life and we had activities w/other clubs in the Indianapolis area, such as retreats & spring break trips. I had a huuuuuuge crush on this guy from the south side (whose name I can't even remember now, maybe Brian?). We were at a retreat and it was raining. The boys weren't allowed in girls' cabins & vice versa... but as I was coming back to my cabin, I saw Brian there on the little 'patio' area by the door, chatting w/some of the other girls. Well, I was hurrying because of the rain and tried to run but had sandles on... and when I reached the patio, one of my shoes was still on the sidewalk because it had fallen off! So, embarrassed, I turned around & went back to grab it & jump back up the couple of stairs onto the patio... where I promptly fell pretty much right at his feet. I think he helped me up but then I pretty much crawled inside to go hide! lol. I suppose if I were 'smoother' I could've laughed about it then and turned it into a flirting opportunity, but that just wasn't me!! Makes me soooo glad I'm not a teenager any more! ;)

Re: REALLY getting to know you...
Camping with friends. It started raining in the evening and kept on all night--we ended up sleeping in the back seat of the car. The next morning while trying to wake up from a very uncomfortable position I oped the back door and stuck one foot out the door. It slipped in all the mud and I ended up sliding down the hill on my behind in my pj's. My friends said it reminded them of the movie--The Jewel of the Nile!!

Re: REALLY getting to know you...
Oh so many to choose from!!!

How about....

I was about 12 or 13 and was going through a haunted house with a group of friends and my friend's dad. A chainsaw massacre guy was chasing us and we were all screaming..even my friend's dad. I was so out of my mind with hysterics. My body couldn't decide whether to cry or laugh hystericallly at everyone screaming like little girls. when we got out of the house, I was laughing and crying so hard...I peed my pants..right there....in front of all my friends. I couldn't help it. OMG! I'm still so embarrassed and it's been almost 20 years! LOL

One of my many embassments was my first day at college. I was in the wrong class. While I was sneaking out the room, I walked right into the door jamb with a big "woooop". I didn't even look up, just ran out.

Re: REALLY getting to know you...
Once when I was in grad school and attending an afternoon function at a professors house, I had a really bad headache I took some meds for it and got a bit loopy. We were trying to figure out who was going to do something. And I looked a this guy and his teenage son- well I thought it was his son- and said, "why doesn't he and his kid do it."

I later find out that A. it wasn't a boy and B. it was actaully his WIFE
