Cole has wanted this one gift since last year, so we caved in and got it for him. FOUR HUNDRED dollars and 3803 pieces!! Oh Vey! It was from everyone though. Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunt and Uncle and Mom and Dad. Plus no party. He had to chose....So actually I think we saved money. LOL
Now if I could just not freak out about the number of pieces!!! LOL
A spiral bound direction booklet....yikes.
None of the bags are numbered and all mixed up. He loves to build the minifigures first....well not this time. A head in one bag, body in another, legs in another, hair in another...you get the idea.lol
So we all pitched in. LOL
Grandma's sorting assembly line.
Holy Cow!!!!!!! that is like a boy's dream come true. I bet he was so stoked!!
Aww that is so cool you got that for him! Very cool. I loved legos as a kid!

I think that is cool!
He really wanted it and sacrificed a party and all other gifts to get it, so I think he did learn an important lesson and wasn't just spoiled and indulged.

HOLY MOLEY!!!!!!!! that is a lot of pieces...I bet he is in heaven!
OMG! That's alot of pieces! Don't show that to my DH he would want it too, huge Star Wars fan. I think it's sweet that he sacrificed to get the thing he wanted most.

My 24 yr old son is watching football w/ us as I'm on the board and I had him look at your pictures. He said "that kid is so lucky!". He was a Star Wars fan and Lego fan years ago and remembers the whole family helping him put his kits together, too. But he never had anything as cool as this kit!! Happy belated birthday to Cole. Tell him to pose w/ the finished kit sometime so we can see it!

OMG, Sus! That is HUGE! I love Grandma's assembly line! Looks like a fun family project and the perfect present for him!!!
Wowza!!! That insane!!! I would have never imagined so many pieces and so sorted out.. I feel for you guys! Well its definitely the gift that keeps on giving and he'll enjoy it for months.. just trying to put it together!! Thats really awesome that you got that for him. Smart move on getting family involved with the purchase! Love the assembly line too! You have to scrap that!!!

WOW!!! I think that one toy could fill an entire scrapbook. It might be a winter long project. But, it looks like he is thrilled!!
No - not crazy! Just a wonderful mom and dad! I have 2 young men who would have done just about anything for that set of Legos!
Wow! But Legos are the gift that keep on giving, so he'll love this for a long time. How fun!
- Angie - Come read my blog!
WOW! He'll get lots of enjoyment out of it though. I would enjoy the sorting part, organizational geek that I am.
Totally awesome !! I'm sure that will keep busy for countless hours.
That's so cool. My son would never have the patience to wait for the pieces to be sorted. What a great idea! Now you need to come here and go to Legoland.
That's freaking awesome!

OK...so the smile on his face (and yours...even with the somewhat manic look in your eyes ) says you're NOT crazy! Look how happy he is...and he's wanted it for so long!!!
The last photo cracks me up though...how much are you having to pay the construction crews?
