I am listening to Nevada Barr's "Firestorm" on tape in my car. On the way to work this morning, I heard this joke told by an EMT at the site of a forest fire.

Every time a woman got hot, he hit her with a shovel!



Then when I got to work, one of my co-workers told us the story of her boyfriend finding a live bat hanging inside her toilet this morning! Argh!! I can't imagine how awful that would have been to sit down and feel something on you backside! Fortunately, he found it before sitting down.

My brother is a supervisor of the Fire Program here and they sent firefighters to BC to fight fires...I'm going to have to tell him that joke!

They have bats in their yard and occasionally they make it into the house--probably through the attic.

A bat flew into our house the other night when my DS was letting the dogs out. Luckily I wasn't home at the time. My DH chased it around with a broom for quite awhile before killing it. It is the 2nd time one has got into our house-that's not bad since we've lived there over 26 years. I do hate the critters though!
