For your upper hard to reach cabinents they have those that pull down from way up high. I would keep things like extra paper towels or punch bowls etc.

Re: Question of the day 8/3
No pantry in this house. Come to think of it, haven't had a pantry since we lived as one big "happy" family. But at this house there are some cupboards out in the garage that hold canned stuff and extra popcorn and baking packages. So maybe that counts as a pantry? :)

Nope. We need one though. We have a laundry room off of the kitchen, but no room for pantry type items. :?

Sort of... the cabinet mfg calls it a pantry. I call it a big cabinet. I had a closet style pantry in my old house which fit 10x the amount my current "pantry" will fit... loved it! We've got our overflow on shelving units in the basement right now.

NO, but I sure wish we did. We just make do with the shelves that I would rather be using for dishes, but we just don't have the space for a pantry.

Mine is part of the laundry room. I don't know what I would do without it.

Right next to the kitchen, at the beginning of the hallway, we have a closet made into a pantry. Across from it was a door leading into the basement. When we remodeled our home, the basement stairs were moved to a different part of the house - so we put a floor in where the steps used to be and we now have another long narrow pantry with ventilated shelves along one long wall and the back wall. I love it!!!!

Re: Question of the day 8/3
Yes, basically and over-sized two cabinets, one on top of each other with two shelves in the lower and three up top. Very inefficient, dumb builder. What can I say, we bought the house for the shop out back for DH and the rabbitry. It very deep and if the boys get in it nothing remains in it's place. I hate it.

The new house at the ranch will have a mud room. It will have a small bath with shower so not to track so much dirt/mud through the house. The laundry with folding table. Then finally the shelving to hold items like crock pot, mixer, oversized stock pots, etc. Cabinet to hold need cattle supplies that are temperature sensitive (like some of our antibiotics, sulfa meds, and hormones used in Artificial Insemenaton). Then a true pantry in the kitchen for food.

Re: Question of the day 8/3
Yes and no -- we bought a tall pantry cupboard for the kitchen that somewhat coordinates with the rest of the cabinets (intending to put new facing on cabinets soon that will match it). We don't have a lot of cabinet space, and this has helped so much! Four shelves (three of which slide), plus the top cabinet on it where I can stash my crock pot, mixer, etc. It's been a lifesaver!

Re: Question of the day 8/3
Yes, it is a pantry style cabinet. Lots of wasted space. Very deep and things get lost in the back. I have always wanted to gut it and have slider shelving installed.

Yes - but it's small. I need to get some new shelves for it and set it up in a user friendly for short people way!
