with my 6 year old daughter. She has been having bad stomach pains and diarreah for 6 days and it was just getting worse so I took her in. They gave her an IV and fluids and some morphine for the pain. She said the morphine helped but she still felt the cramps. They said, after 6 hours, that they didnt know what was wrong and sent us home with NO MEDS for her!!!
So, I'm giving her pepto bismol, which they recommended, and watching her diet. Just bananas, toast, popcycles, water.
I just cant beleive we were there so long for what seems like nothing!

She is feeling MUCH better. My mother took her for a day and took care of her. She gave her imodium and that helped with the diarreah. Her tummy cramps are almost gone. So, we still have her on an easy diet, no milk. Hopefully she will stay better, but now I am in pain. different kind. I posted about it. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers!

It's so frustrating not being able to cure children's illnesses quickly. Sure hope she's better quickly.

That is horrible. I can't believe they let you all go home. That is so horrible. Is there a Children's hospital near by? If she isn't better I would try taking her there.
Poor little girl! I hope she feels better soon. Those ER visits are always like a visit to hell....they always take hours and hours when you're already feeling bad. Did they test her for that flu virus?

Oh - that stinks! I wish there was something they could have done to help her. (((hugs))) for you both!
I hope she's feeling better. I can't believe they sent her home without some kind of diagnosis. I hope they at least ran some bloodwork.

Check a Gastroenterologist ... You want to make sure something isn't really wrong..
I don't know about the bananas. Sometimes they can cause gas and that would not be good. Definitely keep your little darling hydrated. I agree with the others about getting with your doctor tomorrow and get some tests run to try to determine what is wrong. Hugs to both of you.

I'm so sorry. I hope she feels better soon.
That happened to my ds twice when he was around 7, and they never found anything wrong with him. It never happened again after that.

Awwww... so sorry your dd was so sick. Hope she is feeling much better now!
If she's still in pain and has diarrhea, I'd take her to a different ER. Sometimes you get an idiot doctor and need a 2nd opinion. Hope she's better soon!
I wonder, sometimes, if we ever give God a headache.
Wow, how frustrating for you! And your poor baby is still in pain...hopefully you can see a different dr soon!!
