Do you think the media has gone overboard on their reporting of the death of Mr. Jackson?
not really. I mean the guy was terribly famous. However, when they get all excited about celebrities, it does make me question my own sense of what's important, and who is important.
Yes....but that's typical. He was such a star & even w/all the negativity surrounding his life towards these last years, there is bound to be endless media coverage on his death. Sadly, it takes away from Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahan, Billy Mays & now Fred Travellina. Oh well.
Not really. The coverage is equal to that of John Lennon and Elvis Presley and he's definitely an equal to them Plus we have more news outlets now than we did then.
I was sick of it the first night.....and it just goes on and on......
There are so many other things happening right now and that is all the news is showing. I'm way over it!

A bad day on vacation, beats a good day at work!
I think the media has and always will go overboard in the case of such a big star. However, I'm not surprised in the least, and I can't believe any of you are either. It was totally expected.

Yes - but I think they go overboard a LOT lately!
OMGosh...YES! I've been so frustrated that there has been almost no news reporting other than regarding Michael Jackson. What's most irritating is that there is nothing new to report so, it's just the same thing over & over & over. They play the same video, same interviews, etc. Fortunately, today they're getting back other topics but, it's still heavy on M.Jackson. LOL...I think Larry King is having his 3rd or 4th show about him, tonight.
Julie Bullock
Yes - especially when there are other important things going one - like North Korea pointing missles at the US
Queen Mum - Grammy to Princess Bump (Lisa Giann) and Princess Bean (Gia Bella)
I don't think it overboard, not for the media anyway. That is what they are paid to do. Besides, if they made that big of a deal over Anna Nicole Smith who basically had zero positive career or world changing influence, why not? And besides, look at you....starting another topic with the title about M jackson...not titled (Is the media out of hand). So ha, you just played into it too!
YES! YES! YES!
But I think they go overboard with many things.

I am not surprised but YEs
I mean there are people to mourn here, I am already tired of whom he slept with, is he really dead?, who he owed money, etc. He was very talented and famous but we need to let him RIP...
and allow his family and children to move on

I agree with you - the media is only worried about the money the can make of the stories they put out. The famiies of feelings are not considered just the $$$$ the media is making.Kara wrote:I am not surprised but YEs
