Hello everyone!! So sorry I wasn't around Thursday for PIMP Thurs.... something terrible happened! I had to fly down to Florida on Wednesday night because my Grandfather was in the ICU and not doing well at all....they basically knew it was a matter of time at that point. Unfortunately we found out as soon as the plane landed that he had passed away. I am of course devestated! It has been only two years since my grandmother passed away and I can't even believe he is gone now too!!! To make a long story short....we found out three months ago that he had oral cancer...and the doctors gave us a (false) sense of hope and were so sure he could beat this....well basically he had problems with his feeding tube from the start... between the constant infections, pnemonia, a minor heart attack...and just chemo kicking his butt in general...it was all TOO much for him to handle!! Soooo sad!! The wacky thing is that while I was on my road trip my boyfriend and I decided to take a last minute detour and come down to florida....(this was 2 weeks ago). We were able to visit gramps in the hospital, which was Stephen's first time meeting him (so happy gramps got to meet my future husband)....and in all three months since this has been going on, he was feeling his best! He was laughing, and smiling, I showed him all the road trip pics.....it was wonderful and SOOOOOO meant to be! Unfortunately right after I left is when everything went downhill again!


So I am here in Florida with my family....trying to keep busy. We just finished scrapping two 8x8 albums for the wake. Scrapping has been therapeutic for not only me, but my cousin as well.


I thought I would come on and do a late night edition of PIMP thurs.....I can totally use some laughs!! Enjoy everyone!!

So sorry for your loss. Though you weren't able to see him just before he passed away it's good that you saw him shortly before and that he was able to meet your boyfriend HUGS

I'm so sorry about your Grandfather. I'm glad you got to see him on your trip, though. Thanks for posting the PIMP....I was rotfl at the dog one. Two nights ago a friend of dh's stopped by with his daughter. She had a chichaua (sp) and he was a pistol! Our dog is big - weighs 90# - and her little dog would snarl and snap at him - and Boo would be surprised every time (I didn't say he was smart! ) and just move away. That one is so right on!

Stephanie... so sorry about your Grandpa and what he went through. It is so great that you and your future husband got to be with him and enjoyed each other's company at a time when he was doing well. The PIMPs were great and it was so nice that you thought about us cherries during this painful time.

Stephanie, I am so sorry to hear your grandfather passed away. God works in mysterious ways and i think that you doing the the detour down to Florida was gods work. I will be thinking of you and praying for all of you to get through this. <Hugs>
