Re: Tools of the trade (Paper Trimmers)
I have tried so many paper trimmers and LOVE my Tonic Guillotine. It has a 12x12 base and the blade self sharpens. I have had it for a couple of years and it still works as well as when I first bought it. I love it!!!!!!!

Re: Tools of the trade (Paper Trimmers)
I have the fiskar portable one that I use most of the time because it is just so easy to pull out or take with me, and then I have a Carl rotary trimmer that I use when I have alot to cut at a time. My Carl also comes with interchangeable blades that I use for perforations, scoring, etc.

Re: Tools of the trade (Paper Trimmers)
Cutting straight has always been a big issue for me. My CM 12" I loved, but I just could not get things lined up well. I then bought a Cutterpede trimmer and love it. The lighter surface makes it so much easier to see you have things lined up straight to make a cut.

I had an old fiskars, went threw a few of them. They sucked for me, couldnt cut straight. Then got the cutterped and loved it but the arm got broken off, so I had to get another. I would love to find a self sharping bigger one for just at home.

Re: Tools of the trade (Paper Trimmers)
I have my same old Fiskars 12" portable trimmer that I've had since I started scrapping. It's never failed me! A couple of years ago or so, my mom bought me a Fiskars rotary trimmer. I like it, but it's so big! There's no room for it on my scrapping table. If I'm doing a bigger job or especially for cutting things for school, I go haul it out. Otherwise it's my portable trimmer all the way!

Re: Tools of the trade (Paper Trimmers)
Image and i have Image both from fiskars. I like the smaller one because of its size but i have noticed it doesn't always cut straight. The Big one i like because it gives you a very nice and clean cut. But i hate the size of it. It takes up too much room!

I'm still using & loving my CM 12" & the personal trimmer from CM. Haven't changed the blades so far. Always a perfect cut. I do use an exacto knife for free hand cuts.

Re: Tools of the trade (Paper Trimmers)
I have the 12x12 Making Memories trimmer. I got it with the 40% coupon at Michael's a couple years ago. I do like how it self sharpens, but the grid markers are starting to wear off on mine. The only thing is that it is bulky, so I also have the Fiskars trimmer (green and purple one), but rarely use it.

I use my x-acto knife and my metal ruler. I've used them for so many years it is just second nature to me. And they take up hardly any space!

I have 2 Fiskars. A smaller one I use for photos and a larger one that cuts 12 x 12 paper. I love them both. You can even get different styles of cutting blades for the big one.
