That is a great goal and at the end of the year, if we finally learn digi, we can put on our party hats and invite everyone at ACOT to come party with us.

Don't give up!! It's worth it to hang in there. I have learned that it is just a trial and error process. You just keep playing with it until you figure things out. I started out with SFD as well, and it was a good program to start with, but then I got frustrated because there was so much more I wanted to do that I couldn't. Once I learned how to use PSE I would never go back. Layering is just like doing a regular paper layout. You start with a background and add elements on top of that. You can move the layers for the layers pallete, if you wanted something else on top. If you want something moved to the top, then move it up in the layers pallete. Make sure you have auto select layer checked on the top so you can click and move the layers as you want. And if you want to delete something you just click on it and it will be highlighted in the layers pallete. You just right click on the highlighted layer and choose delete layer. You will catch on before you know it and wonder why it took you so long to switch! lol Good luck, and if you ever run into any snags there are plenty of people here that are willing to help you out!

Becki, thank you for telling me about the "auto select layer" thing. I finally figured out how the whole layer concept works on the right side of the screen and figured out that each embellishment is a layer. So, if I want to delete the exmbllishment, I go to the layers pallet and delete from the pallet istead of r click delete from the LO. Thanks for telling me how to move the layers in the pallet and about auto select. The more I play with PSE7, the more I learn.

Re: Kicking, stomping on it, and throwing it out the window!
I started out with Paint Shop Pro 9, I really do think it is easier than Photoshop.. PSE is even easier than Photoshop to me.. I learned both PS and PSE last year and love the programs but I am really glad I had the basic knowledge of layers, masks, brushes etc. from using paint shop pro.. I bounce from one to the other when doing digi now... I open all three programs and when I get confused I always go back to psp...

ACOT DIGI TUTORIALS LINK HERE

December 4, 2006 is a 3 part tutorial I wrote for PSE 3.0. There is no reason you could not use those step-by-step directions in the current version you have.

As for deleting something...you highlight that layer (on the right hand side of your screen where the layers are)....and click on the garbage can icon. You will then be prompted to trash it or not.

GOOD LUCK!!!!
