Re: Question of the day 4/20
Yes, all the time, but it might have something to do with my husband being a Sergeant for our local Sheriff's office. And several friends being deputies or on the local PD. :-D

Re: Question of the day 4/20
Nope never had that happen. But I did have one serve me papers once. It turned out that it was for another gal named Lynn that lived about 70 miles away and was born in the same year as me. That is the only thing we had in common. It was embarrassing too. Happened on a sunny, warm summer evening in town while we were grilling in our yard. The whole stinking neighborhood saw it happen!!!!

Re: Question of the day 4/20
Yes, and thank goodness it was dh who answered the phone!

My dd likes to start off her phone calls to us with, "I can explain...the police were involved, but I'm ok..."  She was pulled over for a missing light above her license plate once, and while sitting there talking to the officer about her fix-it ticket, her battery died. She had to have her car jumpstarted by the police.

Another time, she and a friend were driving out of town, the friend's car broke down, so the Highway Patrolman drove them to a McDonald's in the nearest town.

Re: Question of the day 4/20
They used to just show up at the door. Once because a guy across the street had called them 8 times, saying that my kids were playing too close to the road - yeah. right. Another time I came home about 10:45 p.m. after my shift and the house next door was surrounded by police!! One ran over and said to get in my house fast. So Mom (who was babysitting) and I watced out the window as they forced their way in and arrested someone for dealing. The next day the neighbor was home and I asked if he was ok - he was thoroughly peeved that that kid came to visit with vast amounts of coke. I did have one voice message, but the officer was cruising by when I got home and told me a group of kids has been harrassing a certain neighbor. I asked my kids and when they admitted they were part of it, I dragged them over to apologize. By the time I got the message, it was all over.
I wonder, sometimes, if we ever give God a headache.

I have but it was because I had lost my wallet and someone had turned it in at the local police station.  There really are still nice people out there!  The $20 bill I had in it was STILL THERE!!! :)

No, but we had a business card left in our door with a note to call us.

Turns out our neighbors' car had gotten hit (they park in the street directly behind our driveway) when my friend backed out her truck.  I guess the trailor hitch hit the bumper or something.

Nope.  And, please God, never.  God bless you and your nervous self.  Only when you get nervous are you on the right side of the law.  The rest of them just don't care.

Re: Question of the day 4/20
No, but I had a state trooper and an FBI agent show up at our house asking to see my dh and being very serious. We had been married only about a year, and we were both working nights so he was sleeping. I woke him up and both of us were freaking out. After verifying my dh's identity we were relieved to find out they were looking for a cousin of my dh with the same name. We still laugh about it now.

Re: Question of the day 4/20
Nope, no voice mail.

However...my SIL just started working in the same building that I do. And to get an outside line here you need to dial 9. She accidentally ended up dialing 911, so the Sheriff's office sent someone over. I was manning the reception desk at that particular hour, so he took down MY info, and then left! And I wasn't even the trouble maker!
