Re: question for the ladies that go to crops!
I generally plan one project to work on and sit and match up cardstock/pp to the pics I will be taking.  That eliminates quite a bit of the mess for me.  Fro there I match um colors of my embelies.  If they don't match my current project, they stay home.  For instance, I keep all Christmas related stuff in separate boxes, as well as beach stuff.  Those are two of the projects I do lots of LO's for so I have separate boxes for them.  Its easiest to just grab thos boxes and go!

Re: question for the ladies that go to crops!
Definitely preplanning your pages.  I am so much more productive when I plan pages.  There is a group of us that get together once a month at each others house.  We all have most of the same tools, so we don't take punches, cutting systems, things like that.  We all have some sort of cutting machine, whether it is the Cricut or the Slice.  So we take our cartridges needed and that is it.

I try to organize my stuff so I have the tools I need for what I'm working on.  I also coordinate with friends so we can share the load

I do kits too, but I bring extra card stock & extra embellishments just in case I change my mind about the layout - which usually happens!  I still bring too much too.

Re: question for the ladies that go to crops!
Thanks for the reminder.  I went to a class years ago where the teacher TAUGHT us how to "kit".  We took our photos and walked through the store matching papers and embellishments to our photos.  It was a great class.  I kitted 20 layouts.  They are now done!  But, I had them at home or at a crop to work on.  Easy.  Now I need to spend some time "kitting" again.  That way if I come in and have 20 minutes, I can grab a baggie (walmart 12 x 12) and make a page.  I used to do that more frequently than I have done lately.  What a TIME saver!

Re: question for the ladies that go to crops!
I had did a couple of crops and I learned the hard way to at least go with a agenda.  So the last crop I went to I had things some what sorted out in my brain and I got alot more done than any other crop I have ever attended.

I;m going to a crop on Saturday, and I have to agree with the kit idea.  Nothing helps me more!
Have a blessed day!

I am struggling with that as we speak.  I am trying to pare down what I take with me so that I can be more productive.  But, I am afraid that I will want something at home.

I pre-plan my pages ahead of time and buy the things I think I might need for those pages, it doesn't always work out that way. And I also weed out tons of paper before I go, paper that I once thought was cute and now looks ugly. LOL!! Have fun at your crop!

Preplanned pages - I try to design the layout and papers ahead of time.  (I am a collector of paper so I have a big selection at home to use!)

I need to get better about selecting my embellishments and putting them in the bag, too.

Even with preplanning I feel I take way too much.

For you ladies that take your stamps, do you select your ink colors ahead of time too?  I want to take my stamps but I have this strong feeling I would take way too much!

Taking stamps is hard.  I have only done it a few times and I tend to just take everything cuz I don't know what I'll want.

That is one thing, however, that I dont' have that much of.  If I had much more I don't know what I'd do...

I DO TOO!!! I am not as experienced at going to crops but I am learning to bring the main supplies like paper cutters, adhesive, modge podge, scissors, ink etc and then I bring whatever is suggested to bring for the actual crop I am attending.

I used to pack the house up, now I do page kits and that really helps cut down on what I have to take.

Re: question for the ladies that go to crops!
I try to put together page kits before I go.  I use the huge ziplock bags and put everything for one page including a few different options for embellies.  It is much easier when you take 12 buttons instead of the whole jar. ;)  I do have certain items that  get tossed in the bag also.  Thickers, bling, stickles. shimmerz etc....

Hope that helps.

I usually will pack up one project, with all the stuff to complete it. I can't do layouts because than I do have to bring everything, including the kitchen sink! ;)

Re: question for the ladies that go to crops!
I always take everything I can with me. The one time I decided not to take a particular collection of buttons, because I didn't think I would need them for any of my LOs, I OF COURSE had to have the ones I left at home, and could not finish the page, and that just makes me NUTS! It totally prohibits my brain from going any further. It was like I couldn't do anything else, or continue on to another LO because I didn't have that one finished at that time.
I drove myself crazy! So, now I load everything up and don't use about 90% of it. LOL

Re: question for the ladies that go to crops!
I used to drag almost everything I owned to every crop I went to...not only was it cumbersome, but it ate away at my precious scrap time rummaging through everything looking for what I needed!

I started making what I call "project bags" - I use an extra large zipper storage bag (Hefty makes some large enough to fit 12 x 12 paper) and put in my pictures, some paper choices, stickers, letters, embellishments...whatever I think might work with the pictures, layout, and paper I chose.  I do this for a number of pictures/layouts, so I have a number of bags to choose from...or bring several with me.  Then I just bring my case with all my tools and such in it (stuff like Stickles, ink pads, punches, etc.) and I'm good to go!  At least I can make a good amount of headway...if need be, I can finish the page when I get home.  One good piece of advice I read in a magazine was to stop expecting to finish a page 100% at a crop - it's OK to bring it home incomplete!  I used to get so hung up on that...bringing everything "just in case" I needed it!  Now I'm more relaxed, better prepared, more productive, and have a lot more fun!
