I am very blessed in that I have a lot of time to scrap. My problem is that I can't think of a lo idea on my own. I need to look at mags, and galleries to get ideas, then I take ideas from about 3-4 lo and meld them into mine. It doesn't usually look like any of the lo that I used, either. In any event, I am not happy with my lack of individual style.

I love my layouts the way they are! I know that sounds conceited, but it's true! The one thing that I would change about my scrapbooking process, however, is that I wish I was FASTER! Oh, and I wish I had more self-control when it comes to buying supplies. Oh, who am I kidding? If I really wanted to stop buying new supplies, I would.

Me tooo I have a hard time cutting my prettiest papers i guess thats why i like digi so much you can use the same papers over and overMonroe1218 wrote: Other than having more time to do it... I wish I could ust get past the..."I'll save that paper for another layout" stage. I always feel like I'll have a better layout for my favorite paper that I can't bear to use.
I wish I had more time to scrap. I have so so many pages and ideas in my head that I want to scrap, and a huge stash of scrappy supplies for all of them (like the rest of you I am totally obsessed), but I am not one to just sit and knock a page out in an hour. I'm extremely fussy and it takes me a while to get a page exactly how I want it. I think better when I'm not rushed or under pressure, so I like to know I have an entire afternoon ahead of me to sit and scrap. So like many of you have said, I just never get that chance to get started. I am really hoping to get many of these pages that are in my head out there on paper! It's a yearning I have every day.
I would definitely like to get better at journaling as well as using more of the hot products out like Tim Holtz, masks and glimmer mist.
I need to add more depth to my LO's definitely! they are so bland and boring, but I think I need to journal more; the problem Is I hate my writing, its scratchy and looks like an old lady's shaky skeleton..... EEEEWWWWW!!!!!

I wish I could scrap much faster. I went to a crop last night and only did 3 pages in 6 hours.
- Angie - Come read my blog!
I also would like to scrap faster. Yesterday I spent the entire afternoon mulling over one little page LO! Can u believe it?? And I still haven't yet completed the page. The ideas just are not coming .... Also, I would like to choose co-ordinating papers, etc more easily.

there are so many things i want to change about my style. be faster, for one thing. it takes me a whole day to do a single layout. so that means i don't many done.
i also feel like all my layouts look the same. i can look at them when i'm thru and see the same basic format/blueprint for all of them. talk about being in a rut?!? drives me crazy.
sometimes i wish i could do the clean, graphic style. there is an art to that style that i envy. if you really look at the published ones they have a lot going on without looking like it.
and i'm also guilty of saving paper because i have this stupid theory that if i use it then it will be all gone and what will i do? so instead i hoard and end up with a crazy room full of papers i hate to part with. stupid! lol.

Not stupid at all! I totally get it! I always have to buy at least two of a pp, and if I have a paper that I really love, then I must buy more of it to be sure to never run out! It's an obsession!SusieKing wrote: i'm also guilty of saving paper because i have this stupid theory that if i use it then it will be all gone and what will i do? so instead i hoard and end up with a crazy room full of papers i hate to part with. stupid! lol.
I want unique ideas FASTER! It sometimes takes too long to come up with something really cool...
I would like to just do it - I haven't scrapped since I moved -
I want to learn more about digital scrapbooking. I could also use help with journaling.
For me it's the procrastination aspect. I hate dragging everything out and then having to put it away. I'm hoping a permanent space will solve that.
I'm a little like Leslie - I usually like what I do, maybe not always LOVE it, but I almost always like it. Plus, I'm big on journaling at least the basics everytime. But, I also don't have any of that info from my childhood. Just stacks of pictures with no years, names, locations. I want to at least leave my kids that much.

Are you serious? M'Lee your work is FANTASTIC!!MLee wrote: I think I fall in that category too. I've been doing this for a decade now and I still feel like my work is crap. It's never good enough, never the right style, never quite measures up to... what? Measures up to whom? I don't know. But I think that's just my personality. I'm never satisfied with my own self but I would love to get to the point where I just liked something I did for what it was.
And Leslie, no, you don't sound conceited!
1grandma, as long as you like how your pages turn out I think you should be happy! It *is* your individual style to take a little of this, a little of that, and put them together (I do that too) instead of completely copying another layout (not that there's anything wrong w/that either).
For those that don't like your handwriting, have you tried computer journaling &/or using alpha letters? I go through so many of those it's not even funny, and now I'm hooked on the tiny ones too....
For me it's time I think, I enjoy the process but I'd like to be faster so that I could catch up. One that that helps a bit is I usually try to plan several layouts at once - I'm the type that likes to go through allllll my supplies to make sure I have what I want for a layout. So, I decide what my next 3 or 4 layouts will be and pick out paper & supplies for all of them at once. That cuts down on time a little bit, anyway!
If I had to say one it would be using more than 1 pattern paper at once. I cant do it. Of the 100+ layouts I have done i have probably only 4 layouts that i used more than 1 pattern paper on them. My other would be using only 1 picture and that my pictures dont have to be layed out so evenly on the page. All my layouts look the same and thats how I like it but I look at all the wonderful layouts in the gallery and they are so nice.
