Maybe we can see if Becky can get it in ;)
Yes, you can use scissors to distress and I have done that in the past, but this is safer, faster and a much better result :D

I don't have one of them.  But I do use scissors and sand paper to get about the same look.  I like distressing for something and not for others!
I want on tho.

The back side of an exacto knife works great too!  I like it better because I can get into smaller spaces with it.

Hmmm . . I have to admit, I've never distressed. (shutter).  You know it looks cool, now I need one.  I don't want to use my scissors I'm afraid I'd probably cut myself with my luck.  going to HL Tomorrow night and buying out the stock!

Re: Distressing Tool
Thanks for the tip for this neat little gadget!   I have always distressed in the past using alternate means, not even realizing that there was a little tool that could do the job for me!   I shall be on the lookout for this next time I visit my LSS!

Re: Distressing Tool
I have the Heidi Swapp one and one by Close To My Heart. I keep one in my crop bag and one on my scrap desk. I loooove distressing. I really like the HS one but maybe that's b/c its pink LOL

I like that its a small and useful yet isn't hard on the wallet! I like to wet the paper edges a bit too with a waterbrush and this gives a more pronounced rip and crumble to the paper, just be careful not to overdo it and completely rip it apart.

Re: Distressing Tool
I'm not a big fan of distressing...I hate buying something new and purposely making it look shabby and crappy...sigh...I don't collect antiques either...
until now!
I watched the video and it looks great. I will have to try it.... a small amount of distressing is ok, I guess. I can do this.
