I really think it just depends on the sales person as to whether you get a good fitting. I've had fittings done at up-scale places and not all of them were correct.
Back before Feb. 1999, I wished there was somewhere around here to get a fitting. After I had a reduction (2 lbs from each side removed), I found the doc took too much tissue and didn't even care - haven't worn a bra since.
I wonder, sometimes, if we ever give God a headache.
I went to this place called "Blum's" they are known for the fittings....um, I can put my own bra on thank you very much and tuck the boobs in! THEY wanted to. No thanks.
Measure below and under the boobs, thats the Size. Then the fullest part for the cup size. (don't remember that whole part. I was wearing 40D...did the measurements and tried the 38DD. Much better.

Being large (38DD) I've found that the best way to get a good fitting is to go to a department store or Lane Bryant type store and get fitted. If you are larger, VS will not help you - their bras are meant for us 'larger' women
Once you get fitted - try on several varieties of the bra and have them help you adjust the straps of the ones that you are going to buy - and try them all on! Then, stick with that brand and store.
I guess after nursing kids I have no shame showing my stuff But most department stores won't have you go nakkid...just shirtless with bra on - usually one of theirs.
Lane Bryant has a great info site on their website, but I've found it's really designed for their bras.
Good luck!

I need to do this. My bras are either to tight I can't breath, or they give me very little support.
I'm a 32C at VS and at Dillards. I always try to hit the sales so I end up with lots of unusual colors.
I'm not late
Everyone else is way too on time.
0/3 for February
On a sidenote, I once went into VS's, and I asked the clerk there if they carried corsets. She said, "What's a curse-it?"

Never been fitted, too shy.
I do always try em on before buying though- WHEN they have my size in the stores... I wear VS & they never have 32B's in the store anymore. They always tell me to try on a 34A... which I have done, they just don't fit & they can never seem to comprehend that. So I wait for the sales & free shipping & order online. In fact, my order should be here tomorrow. & I like that they have free shipping on returns, I have returned stuff that hasn't fit right. They may be small, but dang it, they are gonna be comfy!

I went to JCP for nursing bra. I had gotten there 5 years before.
They told me that they don't have them that small.
?
I know I don't have much, but a 34C should be enough to get a nursing bra. I thought that really wierd. I did find them at an outlet store for less though.

I had one recently at JCP she came up with 46D - and I bought 2 bras (all excited) and it is too roomy in the cups - like I feel like I could get a pair of socks in there too! I was wearing a 44C for years.
It was expensive so I wear it and I try to shake them in
Seriously! that is what my Grandma told me to do when I was younger - bend over and shake them in!

I have at Intimacy in Atlanta, Georgia. It was well worth it. I buy my bras from there and they are super!

I've never had it done but I was told earlier this month that I need to have it done by my gyno and the cancer hospital here in Houston. No, I found out that it's not cancer but it was a touchy subject the months of November-January and extremely scary and nerve wracking
They told me that having a bra fitted correctly would take care of some of my issues with pain that I am having. For now, I am stuck with sports bras.
My friends and I are going to have a "booby" party and go and get fitted soon.
