Yep. I got fired from my last job. I didn't care. My fiance had just been diagnosed with cancer in his spine as the cause of his paralysis on Thursday (Christmas Eve). It was a contract job that was due to end with the end of the year on Thursday Dec 31st. The boss was out on vacation the whole week for Christmas, but he took time to come in to sign the letter firing me on Monday when I called in sick (I really did have the flu - and since it was a contract job there was no sick leave). He just had to fire me 3 days early to make his point. He had been mad because when my fiance had surgury I would take off 2 hours early to go see him in the ICU, but I did not work a 10 hour day to make up for it. WTH - they weren't paying me for the two hours!! I was happy to disrupt his vacation.
Yup! But not because of what I did but what I saw!
Here's the dirt:
I used to work a 2nd job at a Marriott in the catering dept (think weddings, events etc) I was a banquet waitress. After we served a meal and were waiting to pick up the dishes, a group of us were in the back kitchen (all girls). We were sitting on these tables. The manager came by, put his hand down on the first gals leg and proceeded to go down the line, brushing each girls leg with his hand. Later in the shift or the next day (not sure which) the same "manager" tried to kiss one of the banquet waitresses in a coat room, she refused, but, she also quit on the spot. I never like this manager and used to talk smack about him. Well, once these 2 incidents went down, I was REALLY talking smack about him and I didn't care who overheard me (we used to all chat in the cafeteria). So, I was working a party about a week after this event and in the middle of the party got called into said "managers" office. He told me I was fired. I asked why. He said he didn't have time to answer my questions and if I needed to know I had to make an appt with him?!?!? WTF.....since I figured I had nothing to lose (and I had been wanting to quit working there for a while) I said "you're worried I'll tell them about the leg incident. He told me to get out of his office. He was fired the next week. The girl he tried to kiss did report him, and he knew it was a matter of time before we all talked (and I had a rep for talking about him anyway). He got what was coming to him!

I used to be a "celebrity cherry", but now I'm in re-hab...... Holy Carp!
Good luck with your meeting today - I hope it turns out the way you'd like.
No, I've been fired or let go from a job. But then I usually get bored and quit before they have a chance - LOL!

I have once. It was a job that I hated and was very, very close to quitting. The bosses were horrible and the whole place sucked. She just beat me too it-I was waiting for the pay period to end to walk out.

Yep... McDonald's :) And no.. it wasn't because I was taking a bath in the scullery sink either ;P
I was getting ready to enter the Navy anyway... so instead of giving them two weeks notice, I stopped coming in on my scheduled days. They called my mom's house (I wasn't living there at the time) to inform me I was fired :)

Trish ~ It's all fun and games until somebody loses an EYELET!
No..can't say that I have been....probalby would have sent me over the cliff if I ever were....I am just like that.
No, not really. In college I had a job working the switch board for the info line. Well at Christmas break, it was suggested to me that I think about if I really want this job etc. I guess I wasn't polite enough for the people. LOL
Nope, I've never actually been fired. My second job was at Kohl's and right after I graduated, I got another job with a hospital full-time and cut my hours back to part time. After about a year of working both jobs and going to school full-time, I gave my notice at Kohl's (I was only there maybe once a week anyway) and worked the rest of my scheduled shifts. The next week, I got a call saying I was fired for being a no-show. I informed my ex-boss that he couldn't fire me since my last day had been the week before. I later received a letter apologizing for the mistake, along with a Kohl's gift card!
