Reading goals
I set some reading goals for myself in 2008 and although I didn't quite meet them, I feel pretty good about what I did accomplish.
First goal - read 50 books. Accomplished - 43
Second goal - read more of my own books than library books. Didn't make it. Not sure what the percentage was, but I'm guessing only about 15% of the books were ones I owned (I have a HUGE library).
Third goal - read more classics. Dang, totally missed this one.
Fourth goal - keep a journal of books read. Did this!

So, for 2009 here's my goals:

1 - read 50 books
2 - read at least 5 of my own books
3 - read at least 2 classics
4 - continue the journal

Got any reading goals for 2009?

Re: Reading goals
This is a good idea.

1. Keep up with my reading journal (which I started last year thanks to you - so thank you)
2. Read 30 books
3. Read at least 10 of the books I bought and never read (it's ridiculous how many of these I found during our recent move)

That should keep me pretty busy.

Re: Reading goals
Great reading goals! I read every day and at least 3-5 books at a time so I really have no idea what kind of goal I would be setting for myself!

Re: Reading goals
I love these goals ... my own personal goal is to read period.  I did read 3 books last year and enjoyed it so much that I have a goal of 10 books this year.  My biggest problem I have always had is I fall asleep ... but I know I can do it, I just need to find books I like and keep my interest.   Let's see I like mysteries, you know, kinda like puzzles or funny ones just not dumb.  Does any of this make sense?  I know I am not into the romantic ones, I haven't figured that one out. Any suggestions?

edited - Never mind ... I found the suggestions!  ty
