wow.  I think I am going to make some smaller ones out of bling pp.  then use the photosplits to put them together but add a glitzy type brad to the end of each one for more permanence..  I like these and plan to make a bunch of the smaller if that works out and give on top of Christmas gift boxes instead of bows.

As you decrease the star's diameter, make sure you make your strips narrower too and you should be fine. ;)

Post pics when you do get around to them-I'd love to see them!!

Wanna laugh? (and I know you will because my kids laughed at me-the little bast....) I didn't have any paperclips hanging around and then I remembered I had some "fancy" ones from Making Memories!  So I used them!!! They were rectangles, but who cares? They worked!! :-D

That article will stay up on the site under the Resources tab after the crop. So if you don't get to it this weekend, you can always go back and try it later. :winkb:

Re: Finnish Star chickies-check this out!!
So, I finally made one!!  And I think it's gorgeous - but it's also HUUUUUGE! lol.  Has anyone successfully made a smaller one that could share dimensions??  I'm thinking maybe 8" long strips, 1/2" wide or a bit narrower??  Even 6" long would be a nice size.  And with smaller ones the paper might not have to be quite so heavy to hold together (trying to use up stash, not buying more!)....

Re: Finnish Star chickies-check this out!!
Image My mom gave me the idea to cut it down --so I cut 9 inch strips that were 1/2 inch thick.
Then I tried 6 inch strips that were 1/4 inch wide.  This is the size for bows for packages.

Re: Finnish Star chickies-check this out!!
dd (10 y/o) and I were making some of these yesterday as holiday ornaments to send to family, she really did a great job and caught on quick too. This may make a nice holiday craft for older kids.

we cut the paper at 6" long and 1/2" wide. Any smaller and they'd be much tougher to work with your fingers though they'd be cute tiny stars. I imagine smaller ones being 3" long and 1/4" wide.
