pay more to ship sooner?
I dont know if this is the right place to post this. I have to admit it has been a while since I ordered from ACOT, but I was shocked at how long it is going to take for my order to ship, unless I want to pay extra to have it shipped in the next couple days.

I love ACOT and I want to believe that there is a good explanation for this, but it just seems a little ridiculous to me. I do a lot of ordering online and am familiar with expedited shipping rates, but I have never been charged extra to have a shipment leave the warehouse in a reasonable amount of time. Most places process and order and ship it out within a day or two as procedure.

Re: pay more to ship sooner?
I wonder if they say that just in case something happens, they get real busy or something or people don't call the warehouse all the time asking where there orders are. From the experience I have had with ACOT I get a letter in less than 3 days saying it has been shipped. Because I live in Canada it has to go through customs so it takes about 2 weeks before I get it. I will soon have to find somewhere in Canada to order because the shipping costs are very high.

Re: pay more to ship sooner?
Sometimes I have opted for the extra fee to have my order guaranteed to be packed and shipped asap. Usually if I am in a hurry to receive the product I will choose that option. See, it is more of a guarantee that your order will be filled sooner than later. Think of every other person placing orders the same day you are, ontop of the previous days orders that are in line to be filled before yours. If there was a huge number of orders placed, then the approximate date of shipment you get may reflect an estimate of how many orders they can fill each day and how many of those orders are on the list before yours. If you pay that extra $ then you are bumping your order up the list, kinda like a fast pass at Disneyland. LOL

Again, that shipping date is based on an estimate of how many orders they can generally pack and send per day. Many times things are running so smoothly, the package actually leaves the warehouse before the projected date so that is really cool! I think ACOT shipping is top notch, I always receive my order quickly and have never ever had any problems that weren't fixed to my complete satisfaction. :-D

Re: pay more to ship sooner?
For me I have found my items ship faster from ACOT if I go priority mail. I'll even pay a few cents more sometimes verses UPS because of the ship time- weird huh?? Still most of my things get to me (Georgia Florida border) in about 3-4 days and I'm usually good with that!! :bluelol:

Re: pay more to ship sooner?
Mine always ship sooner than the estimated ship date that I get when the order is placed.  My guess is that is a ship by date that they aim for, but they always seem to beat it.
My last order placed last week was estimated to ship on the 21st of September.  It shipped on the 8th.

I have seen this feature in many places. It's basically a rush order fee so that your order gets shipped before someone who choose the not rush. At least that's how it's worked from what I can tell! It doesn't matter for me anyway though, since I live in Canada the orders take at least 2 weeks to get to me anyway, so no rushes for me. :(

Re: pay more to ship sooner?
thanks gals! that is what I was hoping, that it would ship sooner. I placed the order yesterday and it says the 18th is the est ship date. I was hoping it would be revised today but it hasnt yet. I am just really excited for my order. I will just keep hoping it goes out sooner, would be nice to have it by next weekend. I am on a tight budget so even if I wanted to, rush fees wouldnt be possible for me :(

I like to pay the 1.95 to ship faster.  Sounds weird since I hardly scrap anymore but I just figure how much I am going to spend then subtract two for the hurried shipping...I am too impatient otherwise...its a sickness :greenlol:

You should definitely have it by next weekend!  I usually get mine in 2 days - because I live in Michigan - but they always estimate alot later!

LOL Carrie! I'm like you! I paid the extra $1.95 to have it processed/shipped the same day I placed the order.  Even though I don't scrap as much as I use to... I STILL like getting packages in the mail quickly! I ordered this current one in hopes it would arrive in time for my birthday tomorrow! ;P Hopefully it'll be there today when I get home!!

Re: pay more to ship sooner?
I ordered on the Sunday of that last big weekend crop and I got my order on Thursday.  I couldn't believe it came so fast!

But when it comes to paying extra - I usually only do it if it's an emergency.  And there are few companies out there that take a week just to pull the order.  So since shipping costs so much now anyway, I only do it in a HUGE emergency.  (like absolutely have to have my sb order to scrap on Saturday! - and then I don't use it anyway!)

I just like our UPS guy - he's eye candy

I don't even know what mine looks like. He dumps the package on my back porch :?
I will use the express option if I need it here quick for a project. Otherwise, ACOT has pretty good shipping times.
