When you actually use a pen or pencil to write something down-- do you write in cursive or in print????
I always use cursive.....
This stems from a discussion in my house last night. My dd Amanda (13 )never was taught to write in cursive in school( we are teaching her at home, but it is slow going) Kimmy (8) is learning it now and has to use only cursive by the end of the year. My dh says it doesnt matter because of all the computer stuff, but I say it does.
cursive.
She was never taught cursive? Wow...that kind of surprises me. Kiley started yesterday.

Ummm, mine is sort of a combo of the two. My cursive is really jerking and doesn't flow so I start in print but then the words that link well always end up in cursive.

Mine is also a combo of the two. I think we all develop our own personal handwriting style and it just becomes second nature. As long as she is not having trouble with her cursive in school I'd say it's okay.

I think because my son always prints, I print to, unless I write a note to a real adult, then I write in cursive and print. Crazy huh!?
I have about 4 different styles of writing, but the main one is both cursive & printing.

I'm not saying forget what you lost
I suppose there's a purpose in pain
What we make of ourselves has a cost
And it's paid every time we take hold of the reins

I mostly print but I find that I tend to use a weird combination of cursiveand print if I am taking notes in a hurry.

I have fairly decent handwriting and find it faster to write in cursive. I do print some on layouts, but not much.
I find that very unusual that a child was not taught to write in cursive. Wow. Good luck with the lessons.

Cursive when I'm in a hurry, but print if I want to be able to read it later!

Print for me. But I survived 13 years of Catholic school so I certainly know my cursive!
Depends on what I am doing and how big of a hurry I am in.

cursive, havem't printed since I was in the third grade. Of couse when I was help my kids learn to write I would print for then. I have heard tell that cursive writing is a lot art form. Sounds funny to me, but if schools are not teaching kids to cursive write it may be true.
