Re: How Do You Prepare For The Crop?
I love to mix peanuts and M&M's in a bowl and keep them on hand.  Also a bag of Dove dark chocolates.  Those are great when I feel like I have hit a slump.  Then, when its 2am and I cannot keep my eyes open any longer, yet my brain won't stop, I have a glass of Baileys.  That relaxes me better than wine.  With wine I wake up in a few hours, so it all depends on how much sleep I can afford at the time.

Re: How Do You Prepare For The Crop?
I make sure I have lots of coca-cola in the fridge, get my scrappy stuff all ready to go (whihc usually means moving it all to my bed), usually have numerous ACOT windows open, better for the game playing, have pics that I want to scrap ready ahead of time so I'm not searching later, printer on and stocked with paper, and of course my Adobe Photoshop already open and ready to go.

Not really too much I do, but I like to have things easily ready for if and when I decide to do a game, fastscrap, or page.

I have picture paper ready, I print my photos as I scrap them.
Plenty of adhesive, varity of kinds
sticky mat for cutting machine
printed out schedule to see whats going on
update my clock to ACOT time
Lots of water to stay hydrated
Now if only I could get a chair with a potty built in, I'd never have to get up. JK!

Re: How Do You Prepare For The Crop?
Clean up my scrappy area, so I can at least start with a clean slate... :winkb:
Run my defragger and get my computer running at peak speed.
Plan something for dinner that dh can pop in the oven (for Sunday).  I make him get pizza on Friday and some other kind of takeout on Saturday.
Print photos I want to use.

Double check the lock on the scrappy door, have plans in place for dh and Alex. Ya know, the important stuff...

Last time I moved everything back downstairs and I had tables set up around the computer. Made it easier for checking in, playing games, and scrapping. My fav snacks are pretzels and M&Ms with Cherry Pepsi to drink. I also clean up the scrappy room and try to get stuff organized for easy access.

Re: How Do You Prepare For The Crop?
LOL Cyndi!  the hotties are definitely a priority :inlove:

*  if you don't have a way to print photos at home (and even if you do its a good idea to..) print lots of photos in a variety of themes!! You never know when a challenge will ask you to scrap about your favorite holiday, your summer activities, your favorite scrappy item, photos without people, etc. Think outside the box and be prepared for ANYTHING!

*  clear lots of workspace!! You will crazily be throwing together a fast scrap, then off to play a round of bingo before sitting in on a really cool class, with just a quick potty break before anxiously waiting for the next fast scrap to be announced!! LMAO there is no question it is intense! So you'll want to have a good sized space that you can work at and then shove used supplies to the side, you won't have time to clean up all weekend long.  :winkb:

*  have your supplies somewhat organized. You don't want to waste time running around the house pulling your hair out because you could swear you *just* saw where you had stashed your latest scrappy purchase. Get those embellishments, adhesive, tools and some of your favorite go-with-anything papers stacked up on your workspace for quick & easy access.  Don't Forget the GLUE! tape, dots, liquid, have it all on hand and plenty of it too! (even if that means bogarting the kids school glue sticks, its okay... we won't judge you too harshly.) :-D

and lastly, come prepared for NO-STOP fun & excitement!! you will get to know lots of other ACOT scrappers and probably even test your limits for both sleep deprivation and scrapping crazy-off-the-wall topics. You are sure to love every minute of it.

Re: How Do You Prepare For The Crop?
I'll be sending DS to his grandparents for the weekend, and I'm camping out at my friend's house because she has wireless high speed internet. Woo, baby! On my list of things to do is:
  • Pack my picture CD binder, since I only have August pics on my laptop
  • Stock up on unhealthy snack foods
  • Make sure I have my camera, just in case!
  • Pack comfy lounging clothes
I know I'll try to do some of the challenges and fast scraps, but I'm not setting any goals for that. Last time I was sick as a dog, I think I did one challenge and then passed out! I just want to have some fun, hang out with you crazy gals, and maybe this time not have a whole thread devoted to my boobs! :-D

Re: How Do You Prepare For The Crop?
Kristianne, you are absolutely right.  Were you watching me during my first cropping experience?  You can't have enough open space!  And that is so true about the challenges, EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!  Be prepared by having a whole bunch of themed photos with matching/color cordinated supplies ready.  You can't say "oh, I can get my Christmas album done during the crop".

Re: How Do You Prepare For The Crop?
Bingo sign ups will prolly start showing up sometime this weekend and into next week. We don't generally need more than a couple days to get bingo lists sent in. Thanks for asking though, I'll make sure the bingo hostesses are reminded to post their lists soon. :)
