... this is posted today. I hope that's not where our scrapbooks end up
Three full scrapbooks were being tossed by relatives of a late elderly
friend. Contents include personal correspondence still in stamped
envelopes, & misc. materials, brochures, articles, etc. from her
teenage & young adult years, 1930's - 40's (some older). May be of
interest philatelically &/or historically (Topeka, Kansas).

Actually, I think I want the dead lady's 3 scrapbooks- they sound interesting to me even if she is a stranger!
lol........I'm tempted to get them myself too mostly out of curiosity since the stuff is so old.SarahA wrote:LOL- me, too!MOM2SNOX wrote: Noooooooo! How incredibly rude! I want mine buried with me....

Very sad. When a friend of mine bought her new house the closet was full of wedding pictures and scrapbooks. The couple had recently got divorced and didn't want ANY of it. I understand not wanting.....but I would keep it around for history sake too..and maybe the kids would want to have pictures of their parents from the past.

how sad! ds is already aware that I will haunt him till the day he dies if he does not treat the sacred scrapbooks with the love they deserve!
after all, that's the onl thing I have to will to him and he knows it!

I can't believe someone is going to just throw away those scrapbooks. I hope mine don't end up in the dumpster.

That IS sad. I hope my kids and grandkids at least appreciate what our scrapbooks mean, even if they don't scrap themselves. What a shame!
Wanna bet if there was a monetary value on those scrapbooks they wouldn't be in the dumpster......very sad indeed!
There very well could be money in those scrapbooks with the old stuff. I know at other sites I see a lot of kits (personal and commercial use) where somebody has gone to a flea market, bought really old stuff, scanned it in and then extracted it.

LOL! We're going with the "multi-plot" option just to be safe! :P
It is sad to think how you put your heart and soul into your books and maybe family will not care.
I hope their will be famil who come after me who will wish to keep a bit of family history alive in my hard work and love.
