I have a question..but this is gross
as you know, my basement flooded Wednesday  night, I worked on it til 4am and was neverending. it is drying up now, but under my basement steps is where I keep my two litter boxes :? I didn't even think of it since I was so busy trying to keep it from going into Megs room. then I found it! :x :x water into the litter boxes and "stuff" all over and I mean all over. I cleaned it all up and moped it with oder ban 3 times, but I can still cat pee when I go downstairs :x :x any suggestions?

Might try spraying some Woolite pet stain & odor remover...I know it's for carpet, but it might work...it has penetrating cleaning agents in for pet urine

We had a similar issue but with dog pee on a cement floor we used diluted bleach.

We lived in a rental house that was so smelly from cat pee...especially in the garage! I just poured straight bleach on it,  let it soak for a few minutes & then mopped it. It helped a lot! (cement floor) You can also try using vinegar....maybe with baking soda as well. Maybe the foaming action will penetrate the cement & absorb the odor.

I would still try Nature's Miracle...we had water in our basement and it smelled like mildew and Nature's Miracle did the trick!

white vinegar would be my suggestion too.  Takes bad smells out of just about anything

I would suggest vinegar first-- not as harsh as bleach-- but if that does not work I would say try the bleach --

Re: I have a question..but this is gross
There is some stuff out that has enzymes in it. The enzymes are suppose to clear the smell. In the aparment we used to stay in they guy that lived there before us had cats, and the cats would urniate everywhere as he was a truck driver and gone weeks on end. Doing research to get rid of the smell I came across a product (and can't think of it for the life of me -- it's been over 5 years now, lol) but it has the enzymes in it. You may want to research the enzymes and cat odor.

I get this stuff from the cleaning supply store called Liquid Alive.  It has enzymes in it that digest waste and mold and such.  I've used it in my basement for dog urine when the dogs were puppies and also for moldy smell when the basement flooded with a broken water pipe.  Here's a link to purchase online.  This stuff is amazing!

PSA time:  Do NOT mix amonia and bleach as they react together to make a very poisonous gas!!  Make sure anytime you use bleach that you have extremely good ventilation.
