AD INSPIRATION CHALLENGE by MamaK321 (Kristianne)
Ad inspiration is about taking ideas, such as colors, patterns, title
or keywords, theme, font styles, and element placement, and using them
to create your own layout. You can break the ad inspiration down to a
basic sketch, copy a prominent design straight from the ad, or you can
alter a design to fit your own layout. Most ads are 8.5x11" but you can
adapt the ad to fit any size. Remember, this is not a sketch and you
are not required to follow every detail. The key is to really LOOK at
the ad and find the pieces that INSPIRE you!

The May Color Challenge is to do a layout in a triadic color scheme. A
triadic color scheme uses 3 colors equally spaced around the color
wheel. Some examples would be red, blue and yellow & purple, orange
and green. Color wheels make this really easy to figure out. If you
flip mine over, you can find the triadic color scheme for other shades
such as aqua blue, yellow-orange, etc.

What does motherhood mean to you? How has being a mother impacted your life? What lessons have you learned being a mother?
Or,
if you aren't a mother, how have you learned from your mother? What
lessons for life did she share with you? How do you hope you'll be like
her some day?

JOURNALING CHALLENGE by Mommybruno (Cassandra)
May: Drop that Pen! Chances
are, as the scrapper of the family, you do all the work on layouts. You
take the pictures, you do the design, and you do the journaling. This
month I challenge you to turn the task of journaling over to someone
else. Let’s get some new points of view on our pages this month! You
can accomplish this by conducting an interview, asking someone else to
write out their thoughts, or – like I did here – just make a list of
the funny things that the people in your life say. It’s a great way to
keep those pages fresh and interesting, and also gives you a break from
having to think up the journaling all on your own!

MAKE MINE A DOUBLE CHALLENGE by Mommybruno (Cassandra)
I'm sure I'm not the only person that takes a
billion photos for something as simple as a day at the park. I do end
up deleting some, but there are so many good ones it's hard to pare the
pics down. Enter my friend the double-page spread! For this challenge,
I want to see two page layouts showcasing as many of those photos as
possible!

Spring is finally here (well, for most people, anyway!)...and it is
time to get out some colorful and funky papers! To fit the bill, I
choose Fancy Pants Designs as the manufacturer for May! There is paper, the rub-ons ROCK, the chipboard is big
![Wink :winkb:](./images/smilies/smile_wink_b_16.png)
Create
a layout or an altered project with any Fancy Pants line, and upload it
to the appropriate category. My example is of my sweet (lol) blue-eyed
daughter, Delaney. I used the Simplicity line and some felt, and
created a very simple layout. Show me what YOU can do!

Flowers? Safe, but predictable. Chocolate? Tempting, but you could get
in trouble with that. With Mother's Day this month, why not plan to
make your Mom's gift a little more personal and long lasting? Plan a
photo she can treasure for years to come! Let's see your generational
photos!

Okay, this is a late addition here. You know the drill, right? Scraplift your guest creative team members here at ACOT....paper and / or digital. To find out who the monthly one is, make sure you find the threads on the message board when we announce them every month.
You must include the layout that you lifted as well.

SKETCH CHALLENGE by FairyMouseMom (Egle)
On April 24th the ACOT Digital CT did a "template reveal." So, for the month of May I challenge you to use that same sketch and make it your own!
Keep it like it is, flip it, rotate it, and / or add to it. Sketches can be used just like they are or altered.

SPRING IN YOUR STEP CHALLENGE by FairyMouseMom (Egle)
Personally, I am glad that Winter is done. I love the warmer weather and taking fun pictures outside. I love taking flower pictures. I was lucky enough to get a new lens (thanks to credit card points) and have been using it whenever I can to get used to it. (I did not have it for these pictures on the layout, though, just in case you may be wondering!)
So, my challenge to you this month is to create a layout that has a "Spring" theme to it AND to include at least ONE circular photo on your layout! I cannot wait to see what you create.

Ohhhhh, you say it's your birthday...well, I say it's mine anyway! In
honor of my birthday this month, let's do a birthday themed layout! It
doesn't have to be your birthday...it could be your kid's, your
friend's, even your dog's (yes, I celebrate my dog's birthday!). It's
time to scrap it!

It's been around for awhile, but I'm finally starting to see it on a
lot of your layouts. Whether you love it or whether you've never tried
it, I want to see felt on your layouts this month! You can use felt
shapes, alphabets, or Queen & Co's fun felt fusion! On my example
I used felt alphabet stickers by American Crafts, felt fusion flowers
by Queen and Co, and some tiny felt flowers that I had in my stash.
Have fun!
