During the NSD crop, I'll be teaching a class on how to make your own word book using your Cricut machine and Cricut Design Studio. Here's a simple example:
To prepare:
1) Be thinking of a 4-6 letter word that you'd like to make (examples: BABY, LOVE, FAMILY, I[HEART]DOGS)
2) Order 5-10 HEAVY weight papers AND coordinating fiber. The Basic Grey line is perfect for this; each of the collections have a fabulous coordinating fiber. I recommend any of these:

3) Make sure that your CDS is the most current version - 1.0.20211.0; you can download it here:

(If you don't have CDS, you should be able to run this as a trial. It should work with the cartridges that came with your machine - George for the baby bug and Plaintan for the Expressions. You will need a USB connector - rectangle on one end and square on the other - your printer, scanner, or external hard drive might use this type of connector.)
4) Make sure that your Cricut firmware is updated. To test this, select any character in CDS and try to CUT from CDS. If your firmware needs to be updated, you'll be notified at this point. If you are notified, just follow the instructions on the screen.
