My daughter ran track and cross country in HS and college. Her senior year of college I decided I wanted to put together a scrapbook for her of her college years of running. I was clueless about how to begin, so I took a class with a friend at a LSS, and then took it from there on my own. I was hooked instantly!! My daughter treasures the book I did for her, she was overwhelmed when she saw it and that was so great!
I've always been obsessed with pretty paper and nice pens.I still am and what a great way to put them to use rather than just hanging onto them because I don't want to use them up...(I still have that problem now, I like to hoard and am afraid to use!)I started scrapping right after DS was born though
A friend of mine from work was doing some scrapping a couple years ago and told me how much fun it was. I went and bought a lot of things I didn't need and then realized I really needed to get a magazine, a book or find a forum/gallery for ideas. I've been scrapping and trying to improve my skills ever since.
Kari forced me into it. I had resisted for a long time, but eventually she won.

I'm not saying forget what you lost
I suppose there's a purpose in pain
What we make of ourselves has a cost
And it's paid every time we take hold of the reins

OMG this is so bad. I can't remember what got me started scrapping. I asked dh and he doesn't remember either. Guess we're too old to remember, LOL
My niece got me hooked; she was in CM and started from there to where I think I could open up a scrapbook store myself. I see where one of the challenges is our 1st layout, mine is so horrible, takes me back about 12 years.

I started when I got married. It wasn't the scrapping like I do now, that started after I had my son. Back then I was chopping up photos without caring if it was the only one I had. Yikes!

I was at home watching TV and HSN or QVC had a scrapbooking show. I ordered some supplies.
I was pregnant with Heidi and a girlfriend of mine just had her dd. She had started scrapbooking and told/showed me her new scrapbook pages. I was instantly hooked!
My mom started when i was little, so i grew up around it. She was always scrapping on the kitchen table and so when i was around nine i started with her and have done it ever since.
After I back packed across Europe in College I made an album using those binder page protectoes with the black backgrounds...say aren't those black backgrounds trendy right now? I need to find them to post for first LO. Ten years ago it was a friend selling CM that started me up again.

When I very first started scrapbooking I didn't even know there was a "name" for it. I used construction paper and stickers to showcase my nephew's photo's. At that time I did not have kids and I was still in high school. After I graduated it slowly dwindled away, but I would play around from time to time. Then, I found out that there were such things as acid free etc. So I slowly started collecting. I didn't get really hard core until about 5 years ago, and for the last 2 years it's become a complete addiction.

My mom got me into it. She is a natural crafter, me not so much. lol I have to work at it a lot for anything to look good. I have been getting better with it since I found the BBC scap board though. Love my BBC!
i started by rubber stamping and cardmaking...however some of my albums from high school had a little scrapbooking in them here and there
An "Enabler" got me starte scrapbooking. I always played around with stamping and photoshop but didn't scrapbook until my sister convinced me.
I started making scrapbooks when I was in high school many moons ago; but I didn't have the products we have now

I did when my son was first born after watching a QVC special, I still can't believe all that I got 10 years ago for just $32 including shipping. I stopped after the second was born and just started a little over a year ago.
I had a bunch of those very small duplicates you used to get from Thrifty Drug Store. I started Taping (gasp) them to notebook paper and writing descriptions and dates under them. Then many years later my daughtor & I transfered them to acid free paper and used glue stick to tack them down. We cut out the captions and glued them down until I could get back to them & make them scpify.
