first up, i agree! your layout is beautiful! i've tried to find the shabby chic style in me and i've now resigned myself to doing whatever grabs my fancy so i'm not going to be much help with shabby chic.but i wanted to say that i personally don't like the "rule of 3". i have done some ikebana over the years and the key design element as far as number of flowers and leaves goes is to always use an odd number. i've applied that to scrapping, for the most part, and i feel that it works for me.also, i feel that using negative space is important. if a layout is too busy with lots of clusters scattered all over the page, it takes the eye away from the photos and journaling, which need to be the key focal points on the page.i think that it's better to cluster clusters if that makes any sense. LOLhere's some of mine where i think i've pulled off what i've just said ~ they're all in my gallery if you want to see the credits for supplies used.hope some of what i've said helps.

I'm glad about the tip because I think a lot of times I "bookend" things by using twos. also, i feel that using negative space is important. if a layout is too busy with lots of clusters scattered all over the page, it takes the eye away from the photos and journaling, which need to be the key focal points on the page.I agree and that's really where I was stuck. I'd like to give a page some pizzaz but not sure where in that negative space to place things.i think that it's better to cluster clusters if that makes any sense. LOLNope, makes perfect sense after seeing your examples.here's some of mine where i think i've pulled off what i've just said ~ they're all in my gallery if you want to see the credits for supplies used.WOwzers!!!! Just beautiful! ***designer love*** I have a lot of your stuff, I really want to learn how to use all the pretties!!Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!!

On a molecular level, I'm very busy.
Now see, that's why I LOVE using Anita's templates, because then I can make my layouts look like hers without figuring out how in the heck she does that. Great information, Anita, thank you.
Ok. This is NOT shabby chic, BUT it is lots of embellies and brighter colors and a patterned paper! Yea me!While I did not scraplift a specific page, yes I have lifted novita's style.So....how did I do with the embellies? Too much? Better placement? Colors don't match?
Let me have it....
