Happy Holidays
Actually, their idea at work is to forbid mention of Christmas to foster diversity.  My idea of diversity is for people to learn about each other's culture, religion, etc. and accept each person's right to their beliefs. Here's my latest example.  Our "Holiday" luncheon, which used to be our Christmas party.  At this "Holiday" luncheon, we had a Christmas tree, we were given Christmas presents, there were Pointsettas being given away, all the decorations leaned more towards Christmas than any other holiday, and here's the clincher - they were playing Christmas music in the background.  And not secular carols either, these were religious songs - Away in a Manger, Little Town of Bethlehem, Joy to the World, etc.  Clearly Christian-based.  So why go through all the motions of making this a Holiday event when it's obviously all about Christmas?  You want to call it holiday event, why don't you try actually including all the holidays.  Seriously.  Now of course I wasn't offended by all this (aside from the hypocrisy of it), but if we're doing these things to cater to those of different beliefs, don't you think they would be offended?  Which defeats the whole purpose.

I always reply back, "Merry Christmas".  In South Fl. we celebrate Chaunaka, Kwanza etc.  If it is Chaunaka and I am speaking with someone I know is Jewish I wish them a Happy Chaunaka.  I hate political correctness.
